"better than the competition"4.5 starson by facel_vega
accurate on most surfaces
reception to about five feet away
quick self-install for basic use
Cons: the wireless adapter is a bit bulky compared to those on more expensive options
I'm not sure the auto on/off feature is entirely reliable (a groove in the adapter turns the switch when the adapter is slid into the mouse for transport)
Summary: Upon deciding to get a cheap travel mouse for my new netbook, I looked up the reviews and found local prices for this mouse, the next Logitech up, and the Microsoft competitor, all well-rated in one place or another. Holding the options in my hands, I had no hesitation choosing the V220: it's well-built, handsome, and very portable.
I haven't been disappointed. The mouse is comfortable, very accurate, and does its job well. I use it mostly for browsing and document editing, i.e. not gaming, but for these it is great and I haven't even bothered with the downloadable software. Don't need the bloat when the self-installer works fine. It's exactly what I wanted, and I've even been using it on my home computer and on two at work because I prefer it to their old wired mice. For basic office use, this mouse will do just as well as a much more expensive mouse. The two cons I list above are pretty minimal, and as far as I can tell the only sacrifice you have to make for not shelling out for a Logitech Nano.
