"Superb Product out of the Box.. save for one small flaw" on by KundiKicker

Pros: Functionality, Portability, Sturdiness of the scroll wheel, Battery Meter, Ease of Software Use

Cons: Slightly on the Pricier Side, lack of bluetooth

Summary: After a few weeks of on & off searching for a mouse that would satisfiy my needs as a pretty intense 'touch pad' user..I think I've struck Gold. I've already had to have my touchpad replaced once after about 3 years, and I'm afraid im on the verge of replacing my latest....Enter Logitech. It's not too practical for me to replace mice at a whim, so in my testing, and reading I found the logitech presented a very Solid feeling product, and with their track record I've given their 'vx revolution' a shot.
The transceiver supplied is only 1 inch in length and didnt provide much of a hassle, at all. For those that tend to lose this little device, a convenient storage space is provided inside the housing of the mouse. Virtually all the 7 navigational buttons are programmable, and the mouse sit's nicely in my Palm. The only flaw for me is that, I have bluetooth built into my laptop so I would have liked to use it as the primary reciever for my peripheral devices. However the dongle isn't much of a hassle or size monger so far, so I guess I'll live. Although not the smallest of 'notebook' mice, and not the cheapest..the host of benefits have been paying their rent. Oh by the way the accuracy and responsiveness of the mouse is excellent, I've used it with detailed pictures on photoshop and have experienced no jumpiness or lack or precesion. Hope this helps someone out there! (9.5 in my book)

"Not great with Macs" on by Janetta Hurst

Pros: Great feel and very comfortable to use

Cons: Not great with new Mac

Summary: I waited a month to get this mouse locally and I was so excited when it finally came in. I was still ecstatic when I tried it out and it felt just great! However, once I had downloaded the driver and software for Mac OSx, I was getting frustrated. I even took the mouse back because I thought it was defective. Exchanged it and the second one was worse. The problem lay in the scroll wheel not responding to the single line scroll no matter what I did. The "high speed" scroll worked okay but the "ratchet' scroll did not work at all. Also, I couldn't scroll side to side as I should have been able to do. The second mouse not only had these problems but also the usb connector was a really sloppy fit; the fits one was fine. Not impressed and felt let down. May work okay with a PC though! It does fit really well in smaller hands.

"Very good, but hyped." on by Evelio Solari

    Pros: Design, Lightweight

Cons: Expensive, zoom buttoms are uncomfortable.

Summary: At its high pricetag, this mouse could have been more functional, like the excellent MX610 smartmouse, wich features dedicated backlit/buttons for email and messenger clients. IMO, the new scrollwheel its cool, but not a big deal; There are features like autoscroll that gets the same job done. The zoom slider is uncomfortable. I had trouble with the microreiver, it did'nt get recognized in one of my usb ports (HP DV5000 series). On its favor, it have a nice design; it is very comfortable, and it allows you to conveniently store the wireless receiver. Every button is customizable.

"three years of travel abuse, still rocks" on by volsfan0912

Pros: Great ergonomics, perfect scroll wheel, great overall feel.

Cons: does not make coffee? - seriously, I have no gripes! OK, it is not the smallest travel/notebook mouse I've ever seen.

Summary: I've thrown this thing in my briefcase and schleped it across the US X 500 probably. Runs off one (1) AA battery - you can use a rechargeable or go buy one in the airport as needed, either will last over a month easy. Great mouse, zero wrist pain after 4 years. great software so you can configure to your heat's delight. I am purchasing a new laptop and was looking at new mice. Bottom line, I paid $70 for this one 3 years ago and it might still be the best one out there. I love it and will use until it dies. Check back in another decade to see how it's doing.

"Would be a great mouse if all the features worked" on by loosenit2

Pros: comfortable; programmable buttons; great scroll wheel

Cons: setpoint software is problamatic; does not support multiple scroll bars in IE

Summary: On the surface this mouse seems great. It is comftorable and loaded with features; the scroll wheel takes a little getting used to but is ultimately great. I love the zoom feature on the mouse as well.

I hit one technical problem using the mouse. I freqenetly go to web sites that have split panes in IE with each pane having its own scroll bar. The mouse wheel will controll each scroll bar fine before you install setpoint, but after installation it won't work on either scroll bar any more. I contact logitech about the problem and they told me that it appeared not to work in this situaiton and they didn't know why. They did not give me confidence they would fix the problem in the future.

    Updated
After several more e-mails to Logitech tech support they fixed the problem. I would now honestly have to increase my rating for this mouse to a 9 or 10.
