Pros accessories and customization
Cons lack of software
Summary Very good gaming mouse, I have used it with a few FPS and like what I see so far. I have large hands so the mouse was very comfortable to me ( I have seen some reviews that people complained about this ) My wife ( small hands ) used the mouse and liked the features that were available to her for navigating the web, nothing was ever said about the size of the mouse.
The only thing I have issue with, and i feel Microsoft will address in further updates is, a lack of software and gaming profiles ( no software is included. you must download the driver from Microsoft ) but all and all I'm impressed with the functions, especially the " DPI on the fly " function that lets you switch from Three preset, settings ( default is 2000, 800 and 400, but they are customizable ) nothing like playing Battlefield 2 and switching to 2000 dpi and being able to spin the tank turant around at light speed. And this sure beats the heck out of the wireless mouse I was using that would inevitably need its batteries changed right in the middle of a game. for gaming USB is the only way to go, and the case keeps the wire nice and tidy for you....price is the only other issue I have with this, but do like i did, and hide the bill from your wife and or girlfriend.
Pros The extra buttons and comfort of the mouse
Cons ~Extra buttons are blocked by most antihacking systems
~The mouse control is terrible
Summary Should have known not to buy from Microsoft. When I bought this mouse and installed the software. Online games I tried to use it on blocks the macro features and the pivot feature. On top of that. the mouses response is completely random. (cant control spinning) and i need to bang it to get it stop spinning. also, sometimes the mouse only responds to left and right and not up and down so I got to slam it against the desk to uses it. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT! I tested this mouse with a sniper and held it still only to notice that my crosshair was moving causing poor accuracy "this was on the lowest DPI setting". I think the biggest problem was the design. it feels good but at the bottom, Where is the laser getting its light source? no wonder its not working well. After having enough annoyance with this mouse I just switched back to a generic computer mouse that works better.
Pros I've had them all - G9, Imperator, G500, G5, roccats... and honestly, I have never expected something as good from Microsoft, but a huge surprise - This one is the best by far.
Definitively worth the price.
Cons For me it's great, but for people with smaller then average hands probably it will be a bit too big.
Summary VERY!! comfortable. good performance, build quality, feels very solid in the hand, awesome looks, and lots of nice things - 3 types of feet (yes, there is a difference between them), the weights, the titanium finished navigation buttons which finally you won't press accidentally all the time, scroll wheel which feels spot on...
Ah, and another little thing- for gaming, this is THE MOST COMFORTABLE MOUSE IN THE WORLD.
"Great mouse..."on by gvii
Pros Large size
Adjustable weight and feet
Good button placement, mostly
Cons Lcd nice looking, but pointless
Games explorer button pointless
Would prefer the buttons be a tiny bit stiffer
Size may be frustrating for those with smaller than average hands
Summary I've had this mouse since release, and actually bought a second for my other computer. I have yet to find a gaming mouse I like more, and I have tried quite a few. I like the larger mice as I like being able to palm the mouse. I have a Razer Lycosa, but eventually gave up on it due to it's tiny size, and my hands are very much of average size. Though I prefer my mouse to be heavy, the adjustable weight is nice, and I actually do use the interchangeable feet. I like being able to adjust it according to the surface I'm working on. I find it very responsive for both gaming and more serious work. The only complaint I have is that I find the "turn-around" button placement to be difficult to work with, generally speaking. And though not really a complaint, the LCD and games explorer button are pretty much useless to me. All in all, it is a great mouse with good looks, good button placement, and precise tracking for a decent price in the gaming category. I highly recommend it.
Pros GREAT customization, sensitivity buttons built onto the mouse!
A small LCD display screen on the mouse shows the current sensitivity and 1 or 2 other stats.
The scroll wheel is industrial titanium. :)
Can be used on almost any surface. :D
Cons Some of the buttons are... Not used for any thing.
Buttons that are not made of titanium, scratch easily.
If you have something sticky on your hands, your screwed with this mouse.
This mouse is like moving a rock around. Its ridiculously heavy.
Summary Great mouse gaming mouse, awesome customization, compatibility. BUT its really heavy. Sure, this mouse can be used on any surface, though if its not used on a mouse pad, its really shaky, the mouse it self, and its really noisy.
