    "Of mice and men..."

by server on March 18, 2005

Pros: Small, good feel, smooth operation, easy on,

Cons: No Case! , finicky driver, maybe too small, No case!, 20 bucks over-priced

Summary: Well, after buying the BT Stowaway Keyboard, there was no stopping at the matcing BT mouse. I actually bought this for use with my Sony Laptop (equipped with BT) but having a BT iPaq I also felt the purchase was justified. The mouse works perfectly with the laptop. With the PPC, it works, but you apparently must reinitialize the connection everytime you power down for the BT mouse to work. (same for the KB) I don't like this but I'm still researching a work around for this. Aside from that the mouse works amazingly well in the PPC OS. It's a bit unusual using a mouse in this enviroment but I can tell you now, just as I mentioned with the BT keyboard, you will definitely be much more productive with the BT mouse. The updated driver solves many old issues and I think I am overall content with this little puppy. I'm not particularly keen on the design (or lack thereof) Basically this is a knock-off design of the many RF wireless no-name brands you see at the local comp store. I tried the RF and it worked o.k. but sometime it was hit or miss. Besides, I didn't like the look of that thing sticking out of the side of my sexy viao z1 lappy ;)
Over all, i think you will be pleased with this mouse. Too bad there isn't much choice in the BT mouse department yet.

A side note: I am very tempted to mod this mouse by changing the shell and using the nicer Logitech Stainless steel laptop mouse (i forget the model) Of course this could wishful thinking on my part.

    happy bluetoothing y'all!
    Updated
    Engineering Defect discovered!!

I should warn you all. Apparently,
there is a problem with battery consumption.
    The manufacturers claims several weeks
per charge based on 3/4 hours/day.
I am consistently getting ONLY 2/3 hrs
per day for 1 week max and I use high
    capacity rechargables! I emailed
their engineering dept to no avail.
Looks like a cop-out if you ask me.

stay tuned while I continue to investigate.
