"This is the most frustrating software I've ever used." on by swannie0212
Pros: When it works, it records nicely. comes with a lot of effects.
Cons: Crashes frequently, sometimes it won't let me record at all...I press record and it counts off the beat and then just stops and doesn't let me record. Sometimes all you hear is static and then it proceeds to crash.
Summary: Not a big fan at all. Looking to buy different software.

"About the related video on the M-Audio Studiophile AV40" on by solutions23
Pros: I can imagine M-Audio's chagrin at your describing the Studiophile as computer speakers. They are studio reference monitors, for Christ's sake. That's of course why they are relatively big and pricey.
Cons: M-Audio and other studio gear makers don't make computer speakers per se. Computer speakers can be large because they often include subwoofer and satellite units, and these are generally intended to boost both the highest and lowest frequencies.
Summary: In contrast, studio monitors are not designed to beautify the sound but to deliver as flat and accurate a reproduction of the source as possible. M-Audio is not my favorite but I agree they do make a great line of studio-grade audio equipment.

"Could be alright for some people. Not soo much for the experienced song producer." on by svtmystique
Pros: The microphone sounds great when using compression and stereo. You can plug your headphones straight to the mic, so if you're recording in a separate room you don't need to run two lines.
Cons: This program doesn't work well for the person that wants to record serious tracks due to some chopping sound that comes out of nowhere in the Session program.
Summary: I like the setup that it comes with. It's everything that you need to record your own music, but I have been on the phone with customer support numerous times(never under 30mins.) trying to figure out problems with the software (1st:a bad disk,2nd:the program coundn't locate the instruments it put on my computer, 3rd:clicking sound that comes out of nowhere which I still have to call back about). I really like the setup and hate to take the thing back. They're supposed to send me a new disk(3rd one), hopefully there won't be any kinks in the program. Who knows, the clicking could be from something on my computer, but I won't find out til I call back again. I STILL SAY YOU SHOULD PICK THIS PRODUCT UP FROM BEST BUY FOR $80.00 AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, TAKE IT BACK(JUST HOLD ON TO YOUR RECIEPT!). I ALSO THINK THAT IF THIS PRODUCT COMES FROM THE SISTER COMPANY OF PRO-TOOLS(THE BEST RECORDING PROGRAM ON THE MARKET, BUT IS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE), THAT IT SHOULD LIVE UP TO THE NAME. THEY'LL FIGURE IT OUT. I HOPE! IF YOU PURCHASE THIS PROGRAM, LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. I'D LIKE TO KNOW SO I COULD COMPARE OUR PROBLEMS. horganizer1@aim.com
