"Definitely does the job!" on by djonathang

Pros: Excellent sound quality. Simple to use. No batteries to worry about.

Cons: The concern that there's a better mic out there for the situation you're recording

Summary: I own two mics that I use with a mini disc recorder. I have this one, and the Sony ECM-MS907. Quite frankly, this mic performs great. I've used it for lectures, recoring music lessons, and musical performances. I've never been disappointed. When I use my other mic, which runs on a battery (with no gauge of battery life), I'm always concerned that it isn't working to its capacity. I also tend to leave the other mic on, and drain the battery. This mic doesn't have a battery, so none of those issues arrise.

    Updated
This mic comes with the option of plugging directly into your recorder, or using an extension cord (included). When I plug direct to the recorder, I pickup the whir of the recorder, so I always use the cord.

"Excellent Omni-directional Stereo Microphone System" on by megoptera

Pros: This product allows above average/excellent omnidirectional stereo audio pickup in wide variety of sound environments, provides quality sound transducer for situations:classroom audio notes recordings, interviews, general notes, office meetings, etc.

Cons: Lacks a unidirectional capture module clip-on capability. Otherwise no criticisms! Well designed micro-plug audio equipment

Ignore review by me on the ECM 719. Made mistake on which product reviewing. This is the product being reviewed by me.

Summary: Its small size allows for easy carry in a small pouch. Plug it into a hand held recorder device and it becomes a powerful Omni-directional stereo recorder picking up sound reproduction of amazing quality and clarity. Digital recorders will appreciate the quality of sound reproduction. Place it on an extension cable and place microphone closer to the audio source with little if any discernible audio quality degradation.

My use in the college classroom recording lectures provides excellent reproduction so I can go over the lecture and get the fine points I may have missed during the live dissertation.

Bottom line, this microphone is a fine addition to one's audio equipment cache. No disappointments.
