CNET editors' buying advice
We have not reviewed this product but here is CNET's buying advice on Motherboards. This content was chosen based on the features included with this model of motherboard.
Socket LGA775
LGA775 (occasionally called Socket T) is a current processor socket used for Intel desktop processors and has been in use since mid-2004. As such, it is the basis of most current consumer motherboards and supports a variety of processors including versions of the Pentium 4, Pentium D, and Core 2 processors. As actual compatibility with a particular processor is determined by the chipset used on the board, it is still important to check the motherboard's actual compatible processors.

CNET product brief
Description: The ABIT AB9 is an Intel P965 Express-based, PC motherboard.Compared to other PC boards on the market, it is relatively inexpensive at around $155.This motherboard supports Pentium D and Core 2 processors that use the LGA775 interface.
Pros: This motherboard can be expanded to 8GB of memory. This should be enough for tomorrow's applications and networked environments.
Cons: Has four Hi-Speed USB optional connections, which is somewhat less favorable than some similarly priced boards. For example, the Intel Desktop Board DG33FB, an Intel G33 Express-based board at around $150, has six Hi-Speed USB and one IEEE 1394 (FireWire) optional connectors.
Suitability: A PC board, suited for use in a whitebox system, or as a motherboard replacement.
Value: Given its relatively inexpensive price, this board has good features for the money.
Suggestions: (1) Be sure that you are using a LGA775-compatible processor with this motherboard.(2) If you want to take full advantage of the on-board SATA controller, you will want to consider a hard drive upgrade.Existing IDE hard drives will run on the ATA-133 bus.(3) For motherboard add-ons, check out the storage and components section of CNET's website.
