Summary: The inclusion of external SATA unusual and welcome, but the reality is that there are not enough eSATA products on the market today to truly take advantage of it yet. By the time these devices become widespread, the A8N32-SLI Deluxe probably will be ...

Summary: The A8N32-SLI Deluxe like all products that we have seen from ASUS is tops, as far as we are concerned. It would seem though that the new X16 chipset from nVidia doesn't give us a huge boost in performance, not in today's games or until you really ...
CNET product brief
Description: The Asus A8N32-SLI-Deluxe is a nVidia nForce4 SLI X16-based, PC motherboard.Compared to other PC boards on the market, it is relatively inexpensive at around $170.
Pros: Is built around a nVidia nForce4 SLI X16-based chipset, which is considerably more robust than some similarly priced boards.Serial ATA hard drives can be used with this unit, allowing the highest disk performance available in a non-SCSI system. This motherboard can be expanded to 4GB of RAM.This should be enough for demanding environments from gaming to gigabyte networking. In addition you can take advantage of the onboard Firewire (iEEE 1394) to quickly transfer data to and from A/V devices such as MP3 players and camcorders.
Cons: None noted, given available product data.
Suitability: A PC board, suited for use in a whitebox system, or as a motherboard replacement.
Value: In view of its relatively inexpensive price, this board has great features for the money. Also, the Asus A8N32-SLI-Deluxe supports USB 2.0, the common interface for today's external drives and printers.
Suggestions: (1) You may want to consider purchasing 184-pin DIMMs along with your motherboard if your existing memory is not of this type.(2) If you want to take full advantage of the on-board SATA controller, you will want to consider a hard drive upgrade.Existing IDE hard drives will run on the ATA-133 bus.(3) For motherboard add-ons, check out the storage and components section of CNET's website.
