"Transfer speed makes it worthless"
Pros: it's white
Cons: way too slow
Summary: Maybe my math is wrong here... with a D70 it transfers 0.4MB/sec: so, to upload a 2GB card would take...83 hours? Ok, probably not fair to blame this on the ipod, since the D70 is stuck with USB 1.1, but unless your camera has USB 2.0, this is worthless.

I think the math is wrong. I get 83.3 minutes, not 83.3 hours. Isn't 2 GB equal to 2,000 Mb? Then 2,000 Mb/.4 Mbs = 5000 seconds/60 seconds = 83.3 minutes. Right?

it would take about 83 minutes, not hours, which means a normal sized card of 512MB will take approx 20 minutes. I would use this at the end of the day or between locations shoots...not during a shoot. I'd still keep 3 or 4 large cards on me. anyhow, i agree, gotta go with usb 2.0

We are not all professional potographers with some kind of 10 megapixel camera that takes gig size photos.. I don't know why you are trying to transfer 2GB but chances are you shouldn't be, there are plenty of smarter ways to do that. Besides, after a few trasfers of that size your ipod will be full, and then what will be the point, no matter how fast it goes?
