"Weak line-out signal but well made and looks great!"
Pros: Looks great and charges when in use
Cons: iPod line-out signal is too low for most situations; Lighted "Kensington" on SterooDock is a nuisance
Summary: My iPod when inserted into the StereoDock has a weak line-out signal. You have to crank up the gain using the Kensington remote control and the volume on the stereo receiver to get audible sound. Increasing the volume on the click wheel does no good because when you are hooked up by the dock connector your using line-out, which is fixed. It would be nice if the iPod had an adjustable gain control as a setting.Updated
I forgot to add that the IR remote provided with the StereoDock does not operate the iPod menu. It will change the selection and line-out volume. Note that in my previous opinion, I noted the distinct lack of line-out volume which I believe is an iPod issue, not a StereoDock issue except that I was expecting the same amplifier audio output that I get from my PC sound card when connected to the Aux-In jacks of my amplifier. It's no where near that good!
