"Next best speakers to Bose SoundDock"
Pros: Great, clean sound with improved bass and a better remote
Cons: Fingerprint magnet!!!
Summary: I've owned the Logitech mm50 portable speakers for two years. They've been great but do have the infamous sound distortion at higher volume levels.
I recently purchased Logitech's Pure-fi Anywhere speakers, and they are impressive. When testing them next to other portable speakers in the store, the only one better was the Bose SoundDock--and not by a gaping margin.
The Pure-fi Anywhere has improved sound over its mm50 predecessor and a much more user-friendly remote with more options than before. I love that I can go in and out of my iPod's menus. I haven't experienced sound distortion with this system either, and it works flawlessly with my 160gb iPod Classic.
While I preferred the look of the mm50 to the Anywhere, the sound quality is so much better that the cosmetics don't matter to me. My only real beef is that the glossy black front and remote are fingerprint magnets. Be prepared to be wiping them often.
Overall, Logitech's Pure-fi Anywhere speakers are a very nice improvement over the mm50s, and if you don't want to spend $400 on the Bose SoundDock, Logitech is your best choice (with a much friendlier price tag).
