"Best portable ipod speakers" on by lembowski
Pros: Loud, compact, rechargable, rugged
Cons: white color, red lcd, price
Summary: I've owned the i-fusion, i-f2, and now the i-f3. By far is this one the best out of those three. I tried an Altec lansing system but returned it because of hollow sound. This thing sounds great inside and outside. I take it to the beach often for volleyball and its easily heard over the waves and the wind. Price is a little excessive, but its an awesome setup.

"No Replacement Battery Available" on by LJSimone
Pros: Good Sound
Cons: No battery replacement available.
Summary: I bought this speaker a few years ago based on the CNET reviews. I am now trying to get a replacement battery. I took it to Radio Shack and they told me it's not a standard battery and I would need to contact the manufacturer. I went to Sonic Impact's website and clicked on Batteries and Accessories. There are NO batteries AT ALL offered on their site. Unbelievable. Although they continue to sell this speaker on their site.

"I loved this stereo, but then it broke my heart" on by sauceylady
Pros: Sound, portability, ease of use were all fantastic
Cons: The only negative is that once the battery dies and no longer takes a charge, it is no longer usable.
Summary: I LOVED this stereo and used it nearly every day for a little over 2 years. But when the battery finally stopped taking a charge, it wouldn't even work if I plugged it in directly to an outlet. I looked online and saw that the company went out of business and have searched all over to get a replacement battery, but with no luck. I miss this stereo and just wish that I could find a warehouse somewhere that is housing all of Sonic Impact's batteries. I'd gladly pay for another battery.

"not as durable as it looks" on by cruttman
Pros: sound quality, zippered case, storage for ipod
Cons: heavy, ac adapter bulky, speaker/display wires failed at 16 months
Summary: While the feel of this player seems to be rugged, I had a similar experience as another reviewer. The speakers just stopped working one day. I removed the nylon case from the lid part by pulling real hard (it is just hot-glued) and bridging the hinge underneath is the wire assembly which was not protected. There was a clean crack between all of the wires' insulation, and both flanking left and right speaker wire completely disrupted. This renders the unit useless. The wires are very small gauge and not amenable to splicing that would last any length of time. This is a critical design flaw of the unit. This should last significantly longer. Do not recommend.

"Great, compact, good sound." on by janeduffield
Pros: Very durable, easy to throw in a gym bag, can tuck away iPod and earphones. Easy to hook up to a computer to watch a movie.
Cons: I use it everyday, at the gym, at home etc., after only 14 mos, the LCD and one side of speakers don't work. I ripped it apart to fix, but there is not enough slack on the cords to fix LCD, I did fix the speaker. $150 should last longer.
Summary: I really liked this product, but I really think that for $150 it should last longer than 14 months (warranty ran out). The wiring should run differently inside it so that when you open and shut it, the seam of the outer covering doesn't rub against and break the wires.
