Pros Small Size, battery life, good sound
Cons Can't store power supply in unit
Summary I spent a lot of time researching and ended up liking the Altec Lansing MM50 until I heard them in the store. My local Best Buy had 5 different units to compare and at the end of the day I felt the i-Fusion sounded best. I just returned from my trip to the Bahamas and the unit exceeded my expectations. The battery lasted all day on the beach and I only had to plug in to recharge my iPod, worked great in the room too. I was also able to fit the unit into the room safe along with my iPod and camera. A little more bass response would make this unit a perfect 10!
Pros Sounds great, portable and rugged
Cons No remote, initial volume too low
Summary I've had these speakers for about a year and they have come in handy more times that I can list here. But aside from that, it is the every day use that I get from them that matters most.
I use the speakers mostly in the morning when getting ready for work. When I'm in the shower I like to listen to music but don't have enough outlets to plug in a radio and have never been happy with shower radios since I can't plug my iPod in. I simply set the unit down on the bathroom counter and play my music while in the bathroom. One of the few cons is that the initial volume of the speakers is set very low so I have to hit the volume up about 10 times to get to a volume that I can hear over the spray of water in the shower - a minor annoyance.
When I'm done in the shower I carry the unit with me, still playing music, into the bedroom and continue getting ready there with no interruption. I also use the same method when cleaning, I can clean one room and simply carry it with me to the next. Much better than playing the iPod over the home stereo and cranking up the volume so I can hear it in all the rooms.
Traveling with the speakers has been excellent. I've been camping, visiting friends in other cities, traveling while staying in hotel rooms with my speakers in tow. It does take up a lot of valuable space, but well worth it thanks to the nice quality sound and bass. And the batteries will last all weekend without having to recharge so if its a short trip I don't even bring the AC adapter. There seems to be a wealth of battery power so I'm not sure why it can't support the iPod when the power gets low or even charge it if I need it to. I guess that would raise the cost and I feel this is a great buy as is.
I wish this had a remote although the newer models do include one but the only time I feel the remote is useful is when I'm in the shower and can't reach the speakers to change the song playing.
I listen to all types of music from country, heavy metal, pop, alternative and the speakers perform well with all genres although I wish that I could adjust the treble/bass levels. Despite this the sound is just nicely balanced, even for heavy metal music.
If they stopped working tomorrow I would go out and buy another of the same one (with the remote, of course)
Pros Keeps everything all together and safe from the elements around us,very superb quality i'd say as equally sounding as my BOSE CLOCK STEREO (and thats saying alot),nice and compact lightweight, very easy to use and take care of its also rugged too
Cons the patch cord when using something other than an i-pod was a bit short (so i invested in a aftermarket universal dual male earphone jack patch cord going from the original size of (4 in.) long to a whopping (2 ft.) long
Summary in my own opinion i'm going to go with it since the pro's out weight the con's its something you'd normally see in a SHARPER IMAGE catalog or showroom store.its an exceptional product with a sensible price that anybody on a budget can easily afford it.in the end you'll see that this external sound enhancing unit is worth investing into. (not only did i get the 1st 1 for free just for testing and evaluating it but afterwards i went ahead and bought 1 for each of my family members,it was the best $1,000.00 investment i made this year.
Pros Amazing sound
Hard case is very protective.
Cons Only complaint would be no remote, but this is just a small detail.
Summary The speakers have much better sound than I could have expected from such small portable speakers. I have had them for about 2 years and they still work great. They have a great range of volume and you can store your iPod and earbuds in it too. My only complaint would be that there is no remote, but I have no need for one, so it doesn't make a big difference to me.
Pros Its portable/travel friendly, it safely holds your iPod, the speakers are great + it does have a small compartment for xtra batteries
Cons I wish it were just a tad bigger to hold the power cord
Summary I have had mine for well over a year & I have absolutely no gripes about it, I do get alot of compliments on it.
You wont be sorry you made the purchase,
