"Amazing sound for a portable device" on by drdobro
Pros: Great sound, portable, ingenious, PortaParty nice for carrying a whole theater around
Cons: A bit big, Battery is cumbersome and heavy. Dificult to access back connection in PortaParty tote bag
Summary: This is a standout device in a field of numerous portable systems. Terrific fidelity, surprisingly accurate reproduction, excellent ability to handle both music and audio. Soundstage pretty convincing for "Surround Sound" effect but too much causes distortion. I wish the PortaParty bag and battery were just a little lighter and a little easier to hook up inside the bag - it's cumbersome trying to switch from AC to battery while in the bag...All in all a first class product and well worth the price. I have an Apple HiFi and I think the Zvox is better sounding and much more versatile.

"Got this for my daughters Ipod and it sounds great." on by RickyZ89
Pros: Great sound, high quality wood cabinet is much nicer then any other ipod speaker I looked at.
Cons: remote does not have all the same functions that my other Zvox 525 has. No bass or treble control on the remote. Only on the back of the speaker.
Summary: This is my second system from Zvox. While it does not sound as good as my 525, I didnt expect it to for just $199. My daughter loves it, it sounds much better then any boom box Ive ever owned and it hooks up to her Ipod super easily. I would imagine this would be a very good computer speaker also. If you want more of a home theater experience I would recommend the 525 which I use in my living room and it really rocks.

"Man Cave sounds great now!" on by jaredwmitchell
Pros: Reasonablly priced. Easy setup. Lightweight. Sound is good quality. Good customer service.
Cons: Another audio jack or RCA inputs on the back would be a nice addition for variety, but as is, nothing a trip to Radio Shack can't solve. I don't quite understand "Phase Cue" sound. Maybe include a bit more instruction on that.
Summary: I purchased the ZVOX Mini a year ago for my "man cave", and I am happy to report that it has been an amazing unit. Having an LCD projector with no sound system, I received my ZVOX, connected it easily to my satelite receiver box and was up and running in no time. Just the other day our Samsung in the family room blew its speaker out, I instantly decided to order another ZVOX to fix the problem, this time ordering the bigger system. I can't wait to watch movies. Thanks for a great product at a reasonable price. I'm happily telling everyone I know.

"Awesome little unit!" on by mandolinjerry
Pros: Perfect size system for my computer desk. I love the design. It has great virtual surround effects, and you wouldn't believe the bass that comes out of such a small package.
Cons: Can't think of any.
Summary: I got my mini for xmas 2 1/2 years ago. I couldn't believe the rich sound coming out of this tiny cabinet when I first set it up. Very nice virtual surround effects, and bass output that really adds a lot to my online FPS shooter games and movies that I watch on my desktop. I love the fact that the cabinet is made out of wood instead of plastic. Everything about the speaker from the design to the performance is very high quality, I have found it to be the perfect computer home theater system for my needs.

"Great solution for space challenged setups" on by jweintra
Pros: Great for music, TV, and movies
Cons: Number of inputs and some distortion at the high end
Summary: After too much analysis of the available solutions for my setup it came down to a choice between the Zvox mini and the Soundmatters Mainstage HD. There was no place to see either of them perform. The Zvox Mini had, potentially, the simplest setup using the line out from my Toshiba LCD. I didn't need to run cables from my HD/DVR cable box or my Upconverting DVD player. I went with Zvox with some pessimism. The sound output from that little box is pretty amazing. Enough bass punch from the subwoofer. Very good voice clarity and clean sound, in general. The Phasecue control did stretch out the soundfield adequately. Tested it out against some choice scenes from Return of the King and Chronicles of Riddick. Pretty awesome sound and enough surround simluation to be satisfied. At higher volumes there is some distortion, maybe I have to play with it a little more but it happens at volumes I typically wouldn't watch even an action movie at. I do want to use the mini for my TV, stereo, and an occasional connection to an MP3 player. There are 1/8" miniplug inputs on the back but connecting them both with only one unit powered on, drags down the output of the other. I tried to buy an A/B switch at Radio Shack for 1/8" miniplugs but they don't carry it. I just ended up buying a short audio extension cable so I could plug any device I wanted to listen to into the cable. I guess that works but I'd rather see a real switch capability within the Mini. All-in-all I can live with the shortcomings. The unit is worth every penny.
