"Not good. Gpx mp3 player rebranded as Alienware."

Pros

Decent looks. Glossy finish. Decent sound. Excellent headphones.

Cons

Small memory. Feels cheap, very light. Gpx guts. Takes batteries.

Summary

If you can pick up one of these really cheap it might be worth it for the headphones alone. The headphones are loud and clear, they look nice too. The player looks ok, has a glossy look too it, but feels cheap. It has decent sound, but the memory is ... Read full review

If you can pick up one of these really cheap it might be worth it for the headphones alone. The headphones are loud and clear, they look nice too. The player looks ok, has a glossy look too it, but feels cheap. It has decent sound, but the memory is really small. It has a sd card slot for additional memory, but I couldn't get mine to read my sd card. When plugged into your computer it shows up as a gpx mp3 player, glad I got mine for cheap. It's not rechargeable either, so you'll need a lot of batteries or rechargeable batteries and a charger. Overall, I don't recommend, unless you get one really cheap just for the headphones.

the "external sd memory card" that locks up unit

I purchased this CE-IV about 6 months ago. I was new to mp3 players so I figured this was perfect for me because of the hard buttons and the fact that I can add a sd card at a later time. well...... I did and it made the unit lock up when inserted. I went into the menu and it did not display that a sd card was even there, but it obviously locked up every time I inserted it. So lucky me I get to keep my 512mb player that is not under warranty and not up to my 85 dollar expectation. THANKS ALIENWARE !!!!!!!!!!!

Great Features.. ie. built mic and orange backlit.. sounds great with many options.

As much as i love this product and its features.. ie..am/fm radio..built in mic.. orange back lights.. these qualities were overshadowed by the players instability. I didn't have too many problems within the first couple weeks.. but did notice that the player was randomly freezing or locking up at certain times.. i couldn't narrow it down.. it froze when it wanted too. Now my biggest concern is that the CE-IV is locking up as soon as i start the mp3 player, at the SRS(O) WOW HD screen at startup and i cant get past it.. no matter what.. this has been the issue for about 2 months.. so i have tried everything. The only thing i can use the CE-IV for at the moment, is using it like a "Jump Drive" with a USB cable hooked up and my 1 gig mem card.. i can still transfer music.. data.. etc. to the CE-IV and back. Which is the only reason the CE-IV is still sitting at my computer desk.. all in all this is a great product with the added features, but i cant say i can rate this product too high.. i bought the CE-IV with the intent of having it for a while being that it was made by Alienware. Afraid not..
