Summary: This is a very nice MP3 player. but i suggest buying an I skin or some other very nice case right after getting it perhaps befor even taking it out of the box. it sracthes INSANLY easiy. the black looks cooler but the white is more un noticable for scratches.I own one of these and i take better care of my electronicss than my self and my ipod is scratched to hell and back the screen doesnt scratch as easy as the finish but it can still be farily easily scracthed but its un noticable if they're are scratches unless the movie your whathcing is dark and their is alot of light in the room

Cons: time consuming conversions, small screen, bad battery life
Summary: I bought apples latest ipod and i think its a sham. First of all its cheap, unless spending half an hour converting one 20 minute video. You have to pay! Secondly the battery life just runs out in a very short ammount of time. Thirdly it hurts your eyes to just watch the dam thing. And lastly unless you have a good case the screen will scratch. After one day of not having in a case the screen scratched lightly in my pocket.

Summary: I really really like this but I expected it to be a lot better. To put your own movies on it you have to pay $30 extra for the software. This was a big drag for me, and I dont really like navigating with the click wheel. When you press it theres not really a satisfying "click" like the other ones. Sometimes I dont even know if I really pushed the button. Another thing is that the battery life is terrible when wathching a movie or something. And it scratches pretty easilly. And a big thing that I didnt like about it was how there are only really 27.8gb, and not 30. This might not seem like a big deal, but when you have 7000 songs and you also want video its a super big deal. Now I wish that I would of got the 60gb to put more movies on.
What I did like about it though was the LCD. Ots super bright and nice. I love how small it is and how it can easily fit in your pocket. And as always Ipods are super easy to navigate and to find songs on. The Ipod has a nice feel in the hands and its not to big or to skinny. It is very nice. The pictures and videos are nice and clear.
Overall I would recomend this if you have a small library of music, and you want video. But if not do the extra money and get the 60gb. -

Summary: So I have had my Ipod Video for at most 90 days and I decided that when I bought it that I would never have to get a replacement plan because I think by buying one at Best Buy your going to just screwed over in the end. So, I went to best buy and I asked for a 30GB Black Ipod Video. The guy said are you sure that you want black and me being stubborn got an attitude and said yes. That was the worst mistake I had made whenever buying something. I hate my iPod now. I just look at it in disgust. i have used brasso and toothpaste and nothing works. I have the case that came with it and also a silicone case. NOTHING WORKS! I am so frustrated. Also my iPod's battery at most will last 4 hours. I have called Apple and they just say that it is normal for something that is only 90 days old. Dont call them, anything that you say they will use against you. Also the earbuds are comfortable for my ears at least yet I was getting my iPod out today and i saw that the cables were starting to show. Come on Apple do something take these things off the markert and fix them! they just wanted these things to be out as quick as they could without even worrying about the complaining that they would soon be getting. I have decided that I am going to get an iPod Nano White 1GB. Which is such a downgrade, yet anything is better than this thing. Also, another problem is that you will barely ever use the video anyways cause it will cost u 1.99 for a video, and trust me it adds up. I am not trying to biast I just wanted to be able to tell you of my problems. Just go for a white one or buy a case the minute yo get ur black iPod

Summary: The new iPod Video has to be the worst investment I have ever made. At first I loved it, but then realized that I was charging it sometimes twice a day. So I turned the backlight off and avoided watching video clips and looking at pics. That pretty much takes the whole apeal of the iPod Video away. I've had this thing for less than a month and get fewer than 10 hours of music playback out of it with the backlight off and never skipping or fast forwarding. Apparently you can only get 500 charges out of the battery before it won't hold a charge for more than an hour. I think that apple really needs get away from this "one piece" idea, it makes it impossible for a consumer to replace his or her own battery. Instead the buyer has to send it all the way back to China and pay $100 for them to replace the battery for you. Also it says in the warranty that they may put used parts in. What’s the point of replacing a battery with a used one?
The face is super scratchable so I try to always keep it in that little pouch it came with and not touch it at all. It’s not very satisfying when you pay over $400 cdn. for this thing that you can't; touch, look at, have backlight on, or watch movies on.
The warranty says that if a defect arises, they will replace, fix, exchange, or "refund the purchase price of the product". I'm going to get my money back to buy a much better player; the Creative Zen M. I've read great reviews on it, and hopefully it’s not a lemon like the iPod Video.
