"Junk for the active user"
Pros: Nice help desk staff
Cons: I run and it freezes mid song within 10-15 minutes. Totally useless to me. My $75 Sony Walkman mini cd player is way better!!!
Summary: The iPod is advertised a something to dance with, they even had an report on their web site "take the iPod for a jog". If you work out for more than 15 minutes or drive on bumpy roads it will freeze on you. I worked with the help desk for 4 months until they finally told me "oh yeah it will do that". NICE! If I had known that within the first 30 days I would have returned it. Took a report to the BBB to get resolution. If you want something to lounge around with... great product, you want something to be active with, don't waste your money. Loading my entire music collection is useless if I can't use it.

I had the same problem, and I agree with you that the advertising was misleading in that respect. However, I think it deserves better than a 1; based on those problems, if it is crucial to you, I would give it a 4-5.
For me, I would rate it about 7-8 because while it is also a big problem for me, I use it in other contexts as well (especially for ellipticals at the gym) -
Duh, it's a HARD-DRIVE- player. They have moving parts. If you want to go jogging, get a flash player!!

I am a cross country runner and run with my ipod for hours and have never run into a problem, maybe a bad unit?
