"hp's horrid customer service" on by sashi25
Pros: good product
Cons: bad service
Summary: my mom got a 40GB hp ipod for me in Dec of 2004. it is now exactly 30 days after the warranty has run out and apparently the hard drive is bad and i need to replace it. the thing won't work at all. i have a $500 paperweight. apple won't do anything about it because it's an HP product and HP won't own up and just replace the thing because the warranty is out.

"This product out classes all the rest" on by diceman102
Pros: This ipod is great for the classy person who wants to look expensive and kool at the same time
Cons: only thing is that it scratches alot so i suggest u get a case
Summary: the ipod is one of the best digital music players out there in the market today, the ipod is really kool the click wheel feature makes it outstanding because it makes scrolling through music and files very quick, trust me the ipod is worth the big money but the sound quality could have been better but never the less the 4th generation ipod is the best music player ever made and it will hole this title for a longtime. i truly recommend the ipod trust me its better than all those stupid wanna b mp3 players who want to steal the show but the consumer markets still show ipod is at the top of the game.

"Solid Audio Quality, Great for First Time DAP Users (Simple Ease of Use!)" on by LiQuiD_FuSioN
Pros: Solid Audio Quality, Very Slim Size, PDA-like Features
Cons: Doesn't Offer Alot of Audio Features, No Remote; No Case or Dock, Pricey!
Summary: The iPod HP is the same only except there's an "HP" logo engraved on the back. All this new iPod does is make it easier for regular PCs.
The iPod is great for first time users who are new in the mp3 world. Experienced users won't find much in the audio dept here. There are no mixing features, custom 5-band EQ options, no gapless playback, or any audio info options to view. For the price tag, you would expect all this.
The iPod comes with PDA-like features such as contacts lists, calendars, text viewing capabilities, games etc. What's nice about the iPod is the amount of third party software/hardware it supports. Such as loading photos (but not for viewing), voice recorders, etc.
Bottom line: If you're a first time user and want something SIMPLE and easy to work with, then this iPod is for YOU.
If you're an experienced user, you'll want something that offers more (Rio Karma, iRiver). -
"Cannot Mount Ipod - Solution" on by glennfoster
Pros: Fantastic User Interface
Cons: Complex for those without technical knowledge
Summary: I had my iPod for a year then it started to become faulty.
I tried the Ipod Updater but it kept saying "Cannot mount Ipod"
I got the fix from here
http://www.ipodmini.ipdz.com
<a href="http://www.ipodmini.ipdz.com">Ipod Fix</a>
Then after a low level format it updated and continued to work up to now!
I would defin get one of these.
