"Features..."
Pros: A caveman can use it.
Cons: Lots of em.
Summary: From Cnet's own review..."Plus, there's our standard list of long-neglected iPod features: FM radio, line-input recording, SD memory expansion, custom EQ, and native support for WMA and subscription music services."
Shouldn't those things take the rating lower than an 8? or are people just going to start pretending these things aren't possible on a DAP if Apple never implements them?
It's also not compatible with older video docks (apple says "give us more money")
The fact that you even need a video dock because the headphone jack doesn't do video anymore (apple says "give us more money")

I tried using my new classic with my universal Dock last night. I plug in the S-Video and Audio cable into the dock while "Docking" the Classic, and video out worked fine, just as it did on my 5.5 gen.
So I don't know what they mean about having to buy a new dock, but note that if you have a universal dock you can still use S-Video to view on your TV! -
I have no interest in listening to FM radio. I don't listen to any advertising-supported radio.
I have zero use for line-input recording.
Why would I want the miniscule storage increase of SD memory expansion, given the 160 GB hard drive?
I have no use for custom EQ. I almost never turn the EQ on.
I do not need support for WMA and subscription music services. I want to own my music.
I don't use my iPod for video. The color screen is nice only for the display of cover art.
My biggies are capacity, portability, battery life, and ease-of-use. The 160-GB classic scores high on all of these.
I have collected several hundred CDs over the last 20+ years, so my iTunes library is about 280 GB. I want to carry as many of these tracks with me on my frequent travels.
The only thing I don't like about this new iPod is that it still has the shiny back. I'd prefer brushed metal all around. For that reason I deduct one and give it a 9/10.
