Pros: great user interface design; cool factor

Cons: no FM radio; poor sound quality; short battery life

Summary: Prior to buying an MP3 player, I borrowed a friend's 30 gig iPod for a trial run. I also borrowed this 80 gig iPod. I finally bought the Creative Zen Vision M 30 gig MP3 player. Although the user interface lozenge of the Zen takes some trial and error, I love the sound quality, the FM radio (for times when I tire of the music and books on tape), and it has an amazing battery life (compared to the iPod). The screen graphics are also far superior. I only listen to songs I rip and burn from purchased CDs, as I do not want the hassle of DRM, so not having iTunes does not affect me at all.

ive owned 2 video ipods and they are better than the creative zen vision m in a million and one ways. After losing my ipod video i thought i would give the creative zen vision m a try due to its extra features over the ipod. What a mistake. my unit froze constaintly, it was heavy, big and scratched 10 times worse than the ipod. And the software..dont even get me started. having to drag and drop every new song on the player, converting everything..what a hastle.
i tunes beats creative software anyday. and guys. with 30-80 gigs of memory why in the world would you want the radio?? and if its that much of a nessity, they sell software for 10 dollars which allows you to transfer online radio to the ipod. theres only one thing that was better about my creative player..the headphones..but they stoped working ina month anyway. my creative zen player is currently sitting on a shelf collecting dust. i tried to charge it the other day and it didnt even start to charge for a day and a half. it was just pluged in..not responding. The creative zen m had potential..but creative labs just ruined it.
Theres a reason why iPods are the highest bought mp3 player in the US.

The Apple iPod is definatly on a different level then the Zen. The zen offers low life spans, terrible support and repairs and the software is so minimal that it is ridiculous. As for itunes, it is a program that gives amazing opportunities to organize and play your Musci with features like coverflow and HD movie player to make it worth while even if you do not purchase from iTunes. So, I would have to disagree 100% with your statement

When I was in the process of updating my Nomad Zen Xtra 30 GB I was also looking at the Zen Vision M but I would up with the AV 500 instead. I personally would never buy anything Ipod related, Monk....
