Pros Very intuitive controls. iTunes, Extras(Calendar, Contacts), Lots if accessories to choose from, Attractive, Great battery, Inexpensive

Cons No FM radio or voice recorder, no iSync available for Windows

Summary This MP3 player is still the best and will remain so for a long time to come. I did lots of research but realized that after the price cuts and with the improved battery, iPod mini is the best. The build quality is great. The headphones are fine. It's very easy to fall in love with this thing. The only problem is even though iTunes has no problem working in Windows, The extras don't work as easily with Windows as with Mac due to the lack of iSync for Windows. Overall: The best 4-6 GB player out there.

Pros Simple and built to last.

Cons Heavy for the size, Screen could be better

Summary Simply a great product from apple.
Though with the new nano's its now old school.
One thing to note is the scroll wheel on my mini works better then my nano.

  • "A Disappointment"

Pros Easy navigation, holds a ton of songs, cool design

Cons Battery is failing after only 2 years, black and white screen, no FM radio, no pics

Summary When I first received my 4 GB Apple iPod mini, I was a very satisfied customer. The battery life was superb, the navigation was easy to use, and it held a large amount of songs. After only owning it for 2 years, the battery is failing. It says it is fully charged, I listen to it for about an hour, I turn it off (switch the hold button as well), and then I don't listen to it for a few days. When I turn the iPod mini back on, I select a song, then the screen reads: "No battery life remains. Please connect to power." Then the iPod shuts off. I went to the Apple store to see if their was a possibility of a free battery replacement, and they said no. They told me to recalibrate the battery, which fixed the issue for about a week. If I wanted to replace the battery, which I will not, I would have to send my iPod to Apple and they would replace it for about $50. This is a disappointment and I will never buy anything from Apple again.

  • "Not Too Bad"
    on by windows_xp_hacker

Pros Nice Selection of Colors, Good Amount of Storage Space

Cons None that I've seen so far

Summary I received this as a gift for graduation in 2005. I had issues at first with the software. iTunes would freeze all the time, or never open, so I couldn't use it for the first several weeks. We got an external hard drive and got rid of the ZIP drive we had and iTunes worked beautifully after that.

I got an iTrip from Griffin for Christmas that year too and the only issue I have is the battery life when using the iTrip.

Other than that, there are no issues. I don't hear any skipping, the battery lasts fine, and all the bits of audio, almost any format (I only use WMA, MP3, M4A) work. Great product!
