Summary: When I watched the announcement of the 6th generation of iPod nano in 2010, I was like, " Who the heck will want to buy it?" But, like many other Apple products, it actually turns out to be an "insanely great" product.
Its tiny size already makes it an ultra-portable music player but it has battery life that matches that of other MP3 years of bigger sizes. This iPod is a perfect for me as I often listen to music while walking and commuting. You clip it on to your pocket and you won't feel its weight at all. You can adjust to volume really simply by using the physical volume buttons. Since they are physical, whatever song if you are listening to, you can adjust the volume instantly. And you can pause OR go on to next track(changeable in settings) by double-clicking the sleep/wake button, which is super useful as well.
Some people criticize Nano for its small screen. But come on, if you have been using a 55 inch televsion, your 24 inch computer screen will of course appear small to you. iPod Nano's screen, in my opinion, is the the smallest a music player's screen can get with minimum compromises on controls and what can be viewed. Once you get used to it, which takes a very short time, the ease of use and intimacy you get are just much more than what one usually expects out of such a small screen.
Furthermore, the Radio app that is included in Nano is superior to any other radio app I've ever used. You can choose your favourite Radio channels and just play them like a list songs. You can pause it and rewind RADIO with this app, as Nano automatically records what you listen and the things after u pause. When you get out of the Radio app, boom, it is automatically deleted. This radio app is a killer app for those you listen to radio often.
Nonetheless, the sound quality of Nano is not very satisfying. It is due to the standard earphones that come standard with Nano. Well, the sound quality is not bad but not good as well. This is both a bit disappointing and understandable. Disappointing because such a dedicated music player's sound quality is not great. Understandable because they squeezed a multi-touch music player with accelerometer, radio antenna and a long-lasting battery in such a tiny casing. (Well, it isn't a problem for me as I sue a-Jays earphones, and they sound great with Nano)
But overall, it is a insanely great iPod ( even more insanely great if you have good earphones) and I would recommend it to anyone who listens to music on the road very often and is with their MP3 player everywhere they go. Don't worry so much about sound quality; it is OKAY. I am actually a beginner audiophile. By the way, great way to check your time as well as you can set the clock to appear everytime you wake your Nano, and the 12 clock faces included make the iPod an elegant watch. It is worth it, don't hesitate! ( although I know I sound like advertising the iPod Nano, i'm still gonna do this)
