"Only 1 tiny flaw..."
Pros: Size, flash, screen, photos, battery, click wheel
Cons: headphone placement
Summary: Ok - so to point out some serious issues to the haters - this is a flash player. There is 0, count them, 0 4GB flash players on the market - until now anyway. It might be a little pricey if you compare it to hard drive based systems but 2GB flash players retail for around 200 - what a surprise. Add on top of that that any person in school gets a discount. While it would be nice to see a mini with 8GB or 10GB this gem is amazing. The battery life listed is (having read reviews from people who actually have it) less than actual with one reviewer getting 20 hours... Essential add ons would be the lanyard/headphone combo that really makes the whole thing amazing. And to all the haters - I've had an FM tuner on an mp3 player and I thought it was quite possibly the most useless thing I've ever owned...

My previous MP3 p[layer (a rio sport) had an FM tuner and it was useless, you could recieve only a few stations and they would fade in and out.

Apples nano is nothing special in my opinion. I used to have one untill I got the Samsung YP-D1. so where should I start... first off it scraches easy so every body gets a cover for it. whats the point of puting on such a shiny gloss coat? It missis all the features like: Raido, voice recorder, line in recorder (can record strait from any audo devices headphone jack, raido recorder (records from the raido), long battrie life, DJing (A-B), speed up, slow down, video, E-books, the list goes on. my ipods screen literly snaped in half in my pocket. Its display is smaller than most and non artistic. to have all these features for the nano, you would be carying a ball of wires and parts that stick out makink it uglyer that it already is. its just a rectangle with a circle and square.

The Battery life sucks, had to reset back to factory settings to make it work.

While it is true that there really isn't a 4 gig flash based player on the market today (with the exception of the iPod Nano) you have to look well above and beyond the mp3's actual capacity. If you were smart enough to realize that iPods do not play WMA's then you would have also realized that a 2 gig WMA supporting music player (such as the Sandisk m200 series http://sandisk.com/Products/Catalog(1161)-SanDisk_Sansa_m200_Series_MP3_Players.aspx) has the same song cap. as a 4 gig iPod.
As I mentioned before there isn't a non-iPod flash-based mp3 player on the market TODAY, but at the end of March 2006 there will be a competitor that has capacity that matches, and even goes beyond iPod Nano's capacity, with features such as picture viewing and an fm tuner, video support, and virtually limitless memory (with the liberal application of mini-SD cards) this player is the SanDisk e200 (http://sandisk.com/Products/Catalog(1166)-SanDisk_Sansa_e200_Series_MP3_Players.aspx) as you can see the e200 has up to 6GIGS of flash based memory finally putting the nano in its place, the fad museum of the early 2000's. -
There was 3 versionsof the Zen Micro: the 4gb, 5gb, and 6gb. Though this is the first 1 to be highly publisied and to be shipped every wheres.

If you are using the headset intended for the Nano you might catch on as to why the design is so. Also these days the battery life is only marginaly acceptable. FM. tuner useless? For you information it will be essential for the future if free music downloading gets crushed. I have seen smaller players with the tunner and record as well. They are trying to make up for this with big LCD and picture viewing and this is one major reason for poor battery life.

Sorry, but I find the lack of missing FM receiver a downer. I use the FM radio at the gym where it's required if you watch TV. A plus to me would be AM/FM - so I can get my daily Rush.

I got nothing against the Nano, I own one and I think it's awesome. But I do wish there's an FM tuner. I go to the gym a lot and they broadcast the TV sound via FM stations, so having it would've been a huge feature for me. Well to each his own. I
