Apple iPod Nano user reviews (fifth generation, 8GB, purple)

Summary This is by far my favorite Nano yet. I actually bought mine AFTER the 6th gen came out, just because I preferred this one to it. The Nano goes everywhere with me, and it fits nicely into my pockets. The radio is also a really good feature to use when I'm out of state and want to pick up some local radio stations.

The battery life is great-lasts me 3 or 4 days before I need to charge it again. Those who are saying otherwise probably don't have the Energy Saver setting turned on; it's a must if you want the battery to last.

I really think it could do without the video camera. The quality is null, and the lens is located in the back corner of the iPod-a really awkward location, in my opinion. It also can't take photos; why include a camera that can only take video? I still want to ask Apple what they were thinking on that one.

My last complaint is that the capacity is still stuck at either 8 or 16 GB. 16 GB is okay if all you want to use it for is exercise or travel, but it forces you to pick and choose which songs you want to put on it (assuming you have a large music collection, which pretty much everyone does nowadays). I would have liked to see Apple increase that capacity to 32 or 36 GB. That would have been perfect for me.

Overall, I'm in love with my Nano. I don't regret choosing it over the latest model at all; I actually find it superior to the newest gen, and was actually disappointed in Apple for downgrading. It's the perfect mp3 player that can be used anywhere. Unfortunately, these are hard to come by now, since Apple no longer offers them in their refurbished department.
