  • "Great for a 1gb flash MP3 player and CHEAP"
    on by CTIcochise

    Pros Simple design, small, tough

Cons No screen, no radio, iTunes.

Summary I bought this MP3 player mainly for running, and exercise. There is none better for this. 1gb flash for $150. I couldn't find cheaper. I didn't want a Mini or any other player with a micro drive, as enough running with them, and they quit working. People bash them for having just a shuffle feature...Why? It's an MP3 PLAYER! You should have music you love on it anyway, and it mixes it up!

The windows iTunes program was a bit confusing at first, and it is rediculous that there is no Windows 98 support. And having to charge it on my USB drive kind of sucks.

  • "If you are looking for a versititle mp3 player that doubles as a flashdrive your look is over."
    on by tuckrj

Pros Compact, durable, easy to use.

Cons No screen - on/off button can be difficult to manipulate

Summary I think the ipod shuffle is a great addition to the ipod family. I do a lot of walking with my dogs and was tired of lugging around a portable CD player. I was thinking of getting an ipod, but was put off by the price. Along came the ipod shuffle. It is a rugged little mp3 player. I don't have to worry about a hard disk skipping if I have to start running to go after one of the dogs. It holds more than enough songs for a long walk. I use my ipod shuffle as flashdrive as well. I use it both on Apple and PC machines. It works flawlessly with both. The controls are easy to use and the sound from this little machine is amazing. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I recommend it to anyone who needs an mp3 player to use while exercising.

  • "very happy, non-Mac user, rating this product, read on"
    on by Jerrodkowalski

Pros Does exactly what it says it will do

Cons Battery life could be short…not sure yet

Summary Preview: You will likely notice there is a wide range of user ratings. I submit that you consider the “reviewer” when you read as people have a tendency to review the company, the brand and their own expectations instead of the PRODUCT. I will review the product here.

Review: The unit is small and light. The case is clean and the use of buttons is efficient. It hangs on my neck with no noticeable weight. Manipulation is easy, functional and fast enough. It holds plenty of songs and is easy enough to swap songs using the iTunes interface. It sounds very good and the volume manipulation occurs in small intervals, which means I can set it to my exacting taste without big jumps in volume. I do wish it had a grip of some kind on the on-off button. I’ll stick something there; enjoy.

Note: I don’t use Mac. I don’t like the lock-in issues with the AAC format. I’m not happy that I can only import to iTunes and not export to MusicMatch or WMP or other player programs, buts that about the program not the product. I point this out so as to help you consider the validity of my review of the iShuffle by itself. END

  • "Amazing Price. Apple has done it again!"
    on by HatchbackMustang

Pros Excellent Price. Clean Design. Easy to Use.

Cons Shuffle mode at times can be a little difficult.

Summary Well to start out with, this is the cheapest ipod out there. I got it partly due to the fact that my old Thumb/Flash drive broke that used to store files on, so I saw this at the apple keynote speech, and thought it was amazing. You just cant beat the price. Most 1 gig Flash Drives that only store files, are 120-130. So I spend 140 on an apple product that is a quality product and you can listen music on also.

Next is the design. Yes, I know, no LCD, well why are they so good in LCD MP3 players? You still will go through the songs at the same speed, so I was like, whats the difference. I do have a 40 gig photo iPod, and this is nice to use at college for my computer courses for saving my work on, its also really nice to just grab and put 50 songs on to go to school with that day. THat way if this ever gets stolen or anything, its not like my 500 dollar full size. The shuffle is a lot more replaceable.

  • "AWSOME!!!!!!"
    on

Pros GREAT PRODUCT!! Would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to pay the 250 for the iPod mini or doesn't have 1000 songs i would get it! I got the 1 GB, and it was defiently the better deal! For 50 dollars more i got twice as many songs! GREAT PRODUCT OVERA

Cons THe only con about this product is it doesn't have a screen! But it really doesn't but me because i love using the shuffle feature! As apple says " Life is random"
