Pros It plays music, podcast and books
Cons No screen means you can't look through your music and select the track or album you want. No expandable memory. Too expensive, there are better alternatives out there for the price
Summary CNet needs to stop drinking the Apple Kool Aid and review this fairly. They need to compare it to other equivalent products on the market. I could never understand why anyone would buy this product. Remove the Apple name from the product and all you have is a over priced mp3 player with very few features that others in its class have. Take the sandisk clip: double the memory (4gb), screen for navigating your music and podcasts, expandable memory, standard mini USB, voice recorder and FM radio (so you can tune into the TV stations at the gym and listen while you work out). This is all for the same price. Apple should have made there new Nano there new Shuffle because that is what it looks like. Then I might be impressed with the shuffle. This, its just overpriced garbage that again, forces you to use crappy Itunes.
Pros very durable, good battery, nice clip, small, fast charging,
Cons gets lost easy, i wish it was a 4 or 8gb
Summary I have ran mine over with a car dropped it several times and i even use it in the shower and you can submerge this thing because it is for the most part sealed, mine still works but i decided to get another one as well because i like them so much.
Pros Very small
Easy to use even without a screen
Good color choices
Clips on to clothes, bag straps, etc.
VoiceOver is really good. Press it once to hear the song you're playing. Press it twice to hear the battery. Hold it to hear playlists
Cons When you press down the one side of the clip to put it on something you are likely to press the "Back" button, so I recommend holding down the play button until you hear a click through your headphones before clipping it on. This puts on buttonlock.
Summary Very good, small player, and much better than the 3g shuffle and better, probably, than the 6g nano.
Pros Small. Easy to use. Big Buttons.
Cons Broke when sweat got on it after a month. You are better off sticking with a I Pod Nano and using an arm band to workout.
Summary Do not buy if using to workout. Choose another Ipod option.
Pros Small, stylish, built and sound quality, easy to use!
Cons Earphone cable slightly too short,
Summary For those who complain about storage etc etc... The point of the shuffle is to have your favorite tunes with you anywhere you go, for the cheapest possible price, while still having apple's quality. They never advertised massive storage, or a screen, if you want that then get a iPod Nano!
In the end the iPod Shuffle does exactly what is was designed to do, its actually very easy to use without a screen and it executes its function perfectly.
If you are under any illusion about its feature set then just don't buy it, and save us the complaining :)! But it you want a brilliant, wearable, cheap music player... Its Perfect!
