  • "CNet needs to stop drinking the Apple Kool Aid"
    1.5 stars
    on by Metallion28

Pros: It plays music, podcast and books

Cons: No screen means you can't look through your music and select the track or album you want. No expandable memory. Too expensive, there are better alternatives out there for the price

Summary: CNet needs to stop drinking the Apple Kool Aid and review this fairly. They need to compare it to other equivalent products on the market. I could never understand why anyone would buy this product. Remove the Apple name from the product and all you have is a over priced mp3 player with very few features that others in its class have. Take the sandisk clip: double the memory (4gb), screen for navigating your music and podcasts, expandable memory, standard mini USB, voice recorder and FM radio (so you can tune into the TV stations at the gym and listen while you work out). This is all for the same price. Apple should have made there new Nano there new Shuffle because that is what it looks like. Then I might be impressed with the shuffle. This, its just overpriced garbage that again, forces you to use crappy Itunes.

I guess that's the perfect alternative. But, if you want to teach how to properly compare two products then do it like that. You should say it like this, "Here's the specs of the iPod Shuffle VS. Sandisk Clip respectively: 1_ 2 VS. 4GB, 2_ No Screen VS. Menu Screen, 3_ $49 VS. $49.99, 4_ Very thin and portable to clip on shirts and/or belts VS. very portable to clip on belts but not so much on shirts, 5_ MP3, WMA, secure WMA and Audible audio file formats vs. AAC, Protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible formats , Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV, 6_ No FM Tuner vs. FM Tuner, 7_ Advertise as highly recycable vs. no mention of it, voice-over command vs. no voice-over command. OK so you get more bang for the buck with Sandisk Clip in terms of features. But the Apple has always been known to sell you beautifully designed products that are highly recycable (enviromentally friendly in other words) and very portable as well. I did research and found all of this. See how much can you find.
