Pros Small, colored, simple, quick, convenient
Cons No LCD, can be difficult to navigate, no easy usb sync
Summary Being a long time user of iPod's (I own every single one that has been released), I throughly enjoy the shuffle. It is simple, small, and GREAT for working out. I especially enjoyed the first gen shuffle and now this is even better because it is smaller, lighter, and clips onto anything.
While some may say it is difficult to navigate music...well that is truly for the absent minded. Consider it is the user who syncs music, anyone would have at least a general sense of the order of songs and if not, you KNOW the name of the song. Now, considering there is a play list option, it should not be hard to find that particular song.
Second, the shuffle option. This is the whole point of the product. You are not supposed to navigate for your songs, it shuffles and navigates for you. I find that with my 5G iPod, I tend to listen to the same song over and over because I can find it easily, yet with the shuffle I welcome a new song using the shuffle feature. Plus, the shuffle feature is great for when jogging/working out because it is VERY uncomfortable using the other iPod's simply because of their size and weight.
Overall, the product is great, but there is one short fall when compared to the 1st gen shuffle and that is the lack of an easy USB sync. I used the 1st gen shuffle for music and files, espeically when at school/work giving presentions, but now, I just the 1st gen shuffle purely for files. It would have been nice if the 2nd gen shuffle had this, but not necessary...however, I do question the choice of when syncing the iPod, it has to be synced upside down...
As I said in the beginning, for what the Shuffle is said to do, it does it very well.
Pros I guess it works
Cons Way too small, poor sound
Summary For less money you can buy the Creative Nano which is a little larger (thus easier to use), has better sound, an LCD, Integrated FM tuner, voice/FM recording, and line-in encoding. With it's simple drag and drop interface you can store data files such as photos and presentations.
Pros Belt clip; colors; interface; looks; price; size; weight.
Cons No screen; non-standard USB syncing.
