"Deal breaking headphone incompatibility"
1.0 starson by holtharveyPros: it plays music
Cons: headsets don't last.
remote breaks easily in any kind of moderately high intensity workouts.Summary: Without remote compatible headphones or a remote adapter, you cannot change volume or skip tracks. The problem. I use the shuffle to workout. I do running, weights and various other cardio equipment and I move around a lot. I have had 2 headsets each stop working in less than 3 months. The first just stopped working after a couple months. The second, the remote casing broke after a month and a half and the headset lasted for a couple more days before it crapped out too. The weight of the remote bouncing around exceeds the construction quality of the remote and/or the tensile strength of the wire. Poor design. I won't buy another shuffle until the controls are back on the ipod itself like the 2nd gen, which I loved.
