"Overpriced and outdated"0.5 starson by primetechv2
Pros: For people who don't know what Android is, what MP3 players are, and how to save money, this device is "the bomb."
Cons: For people who are even somewhat tech-savvy, or already have a smartphone, this oversized device is too much.
Summary: The iPod is an overhyped excuse for an MP3 player, which can only be explained by Apple's cult-like following. And really, sheep, that's all it is: an MP3 player with the letter "i" at the front of it.
The interface is not customizable, although every little detail has been blown out of proportion by Apple as being brand-new. They've finally stolen the Android notification bar, which they have labeled as all their own.
And to top it off, they've added the name of this year (umm, 2011?) and demanded another $399 from their consumers. Lame.
What can this iPod do? Not much. It can't surf the web without being tethered to a wifi connection. It cannot tell you where you're going when it's offline, something a $99 Android device can do (like the prepaid Optimus V off a contract.)
There is no expandable memory. There is no replaceable battery. There's no option for a slide-out keyboard. 3G service is not opt-in at your discretion. There's no choice (unless seeing your phone in white gives you the shivers). There are no third-party apps to be installed, no homescreen widgets, but oh look! I can Twitter without installing something!
Long story short, if you're too dumb to actually bargain shop and customize things, this is a great way to look "different" by being just like everybody else. Flash this around, let people know you can waste money.
