Summary: Am I the only one horrified at the absurd price of this toy? Yes it is a top-notch player, but $400, REALLY???????? In an age where so many people can't afford to the most basic necessities, where does Apple come off charging this exorbitant price for a toy THAT WILL BE OBSOLETE within a couple years? You know, the Sony Walkman tape player enabled the masses to enjoy their music wherever they went -- it was a real gift to those of us who craved the ability to listen to our own music, follow our own drummers. Apple has not only monopolized the portable music player industry and driven out the competition, it has created a device that only the rich and frivolous can afford. Where's the gift in that? Maybe the OCCUPY WALL STREET rallies should set up camp outside a certain Apple headquarters.

The starting price is $199, not $400. The 64gb version costs $400. They also don't become obsolete within a couple of years. Apple hasn't monopolized the portable music industry; there are plenty of other portable music players out there.
