"HOW CAN YOU RATE THIS YET - ITS NOT EVEN OUT!"

    by firefinder24 on September 8, 2007

    Pros: Read below!

    Cons: Read below!

Summary: I get so tired of people rating a product when they don't even have one in their hands. This isn't a rate by what you have heard, it is supposed to be a rating for people that have purchased one and have hands on experience with the device giving their opinions. Come on people! And yes, I had to put a number in to submit this, so I gave it a 10 as the specs sound good!
    Updated
No more ranting abuot how people rate products before they own one. I've been able to play with the iTouch for about 3 days now. EXCELLENT product, and very similar to the iPhone. The only major dislike is volume control. Its very good, but being used to my nano, and having a physical volume control, there are a few extra steps to adjust the volume of the touch. Not a big dela other than when you are at the gym. The Wifi is awesome, as is the display. I have not had any of the reported "dark" screen issues that are being reported.

I have heard that the Ipod Touch does not Support 64 bit versions of Windows Vista. Is this true?

iPod touch had an interesting release, in fact, Apple Stores in my area had them around September 10th! I myself got my own on the 20th! In short, stores received early shipments, and put them on sale immediately, resulting in a small group of people getting theirs before the actual release.

The Apples Stores have lots. Mine in CT, was loaded with them I went there in the late afternoon, and they were not only selling them like hotcakes, but were NOT running out!

I got my IPOD TOUCH 3 days ago from an APPLE STORE in SAN DIEGO. Yes it's not officially out, but when one of the GENIUS asked me if I needed help, all I said was, YES, and was wondering if they have the IPOD TOUCH yet, and he said yes and he asked me which one I would like to have, I said the 16GIG. Sometimes it pays to ask rather than act like you know whats going on. Im very pleased with my IPOD Touch and it was all I expected, an IPHONE without the PHONE. I love the fact that it is slimmer than the IPHONE and has wireless capability. Who cares about TEXT MSG/SMS when you can actually go online and check your email.

I think cnet should get with the program and either change the heading from "review" to "opinion" prior to a product's release, or simply close access to the reviews area until one CAN actually review the product, instead of the rants and raves about how "I don't like ipods because my sister Betty had one..." and the like -- which only serve to skew the review numbers and work against the entire point of reviews -- to aid others in the purchasing process. Overall, cnet's numbers tend to be unreliable for this reason (not to mention many "reviewers" are simply commenting on items unrelated to the product itself or don't even have the product).

Totally Agree. Wait until you have it in your hands.

I agree with you,CNET is really good about having CONSUMERS give their ratings on a particular product they OWN. It sux how they allowed users to rate this knowing it hasn't been released yet. Come on ppl if you want to give your opinion about the touch do it in a blog/forum not here. Im definitely getting one but I refuse to post anything until I get it...

We're absolutely allowed to rate how this product will work because we already know - it's a phone-less iPhone. If you've used an iPhone, you're familiar with the iPod touch, as Mr. Jobs said.

That said, we're also completely allowed to rate based on the technical specs since we're now familiar with how it works.

I agree, I would expect a "user opinion" to be from one who has owned it or at least had a chance to touch one.

Have you ever been to an Apple store, played with an almost exact analogue, read the specs, evaluated the generic claims?

  • reply by: prasad_dude on September 9, 2007

Hey i totally agree with you, why are people wasting their and our time with comments without even using it. This is absolute CRAP. Guys dont waste your / our time
