"Awesome addition"
Pros: touch screen, widescreen, wi-fi
Cons: lack of wireless n standard, low storage capacity
Summary: This is my 5th iPod and I've been pleased with each. Each has it's own unique spot except for one.
1st gen 1gb shuffle - used for working out/lifting - no screen needed, not running
2nd gen 4gb nano - used for running with nike+ kit
60gb video iPod
160 video iPod - replaced my 60gb because I needed more space to keep everything on it
32gb iPod touch - wanted for the 'pros' listed above
That said, for anyone with a large music/movie collection, it's not the ultimate answer. However, it's an excellent compliment to an iPod collection.
Having long ago upgraded my wireless network to the 802.11n standard, I have all the security settings set using the new higher capabilities, but I didn't want to lose that by switching it to legacy mode just to connect my iPod touch wirelessly at home. Instead, I chained my old router on the new router and got them both working, so I still have the laptops with the higher wireless security and a separate wireless network just for the touch with the 802.11b security.
All this said, I still highly recommend the touch.
