"Bulletproof - almost"
Pros: lots of capacity; relatively cheap, takes abuse
Cons: Archos stopped supporting it
Summary: Have had my Jukebox Recorder 20 for 2-3 years and have been very happy. I'm a marathon runner, and this thing has taken quite a beating over the years, and it keeps on playing. Sure the batteries wear out. But they're easy to replace with any 4 AA rechargeables from the electronics store. Many of the previous user comments complaining about battery life don't seem to realize this.
Last night, I was running a 12-miler; and tripped. I came crashing down on my left side, and right on top of the unit strapped to my left side. It never stopped playing, and I kept right on running, even though I later discovered I'd cracked a rib. Later in the run, when I went to change the album I discovered that, besides cracking my rib, I'd also cracked the LCD screen - it was dark and splotchy. So at the moment, the unit is useless as a portable, but it's still working just fine through the USB port. I'm currently shopping for a replacement; alas Archos isn't making or repairing them any more.
