"a little bulky, but ideal for travel"
Pros: great capacity, durable, supports drop and drag to and from computer.
Cons: heavy, 12 oz. bulky, original os not so good(see review)
Summary: Long before there was an Ipod, there was Archos. I purchased this unit almost 3 years ago for a trip overseas. not only for music, but also to upload photos from my camera, and to also carry large data files. I got it at Costco with a bundle pack that came with a car charger and cassette adapter. It was flawless with the exception of the os that was installed in the unit, it was sluggish and would laaaaaag at times while searching thru folders. this problem has been resolved with the software available from rockbox. it has many features and options that add to the ease of use. I was given a Sony 1gb md as a gift to use because I was told the JB20 was to big to carry. I tried to upload music once, saw all the requirements to convert the songs to the Sony format, and there sits the Sony MD. I just recently purchased a new car stereo that has Av in jacks so I can hardwire my player. I hope to be using this unit for many years to come. The size and weight are only issuse I have found with the unit, but I would not trade it for an Ipod with the same capcity.
