"THIS IS IT. THIS IS THE ONE. IT IS THE BEST ON THE MARKET RIGHT NOW"
Pros: Expandable memory. Beauitiful screen, to much to list
Cons: Maybe price, maybe you can play HD quality video to your TV but not really
Summary: After a long hard search someone finally got it. A touch screen player that plays audio AND video....all with EXPANDABLE memory. This the best and most badass mobile entertainment unit. I am buying stock in this company. They know what people want and they deliver. I sometimes wonder if CNET has a hint of a clue. I know they rarely give out tens but this unit deserves at least a 9 from them. At least?. CNET reviews are COMPLETE idiots. They have proven that time and time again. When you pick up a unit?.comment on the lights it has ?a certain DELL laptop comes to mind and NOT its performance?I think that?s pretty much proof they have ABSOLUTLY NO CLUE WHATSOEVER about the products they review. NONE at all. IDIOTS. Anyway?if you are looking for an all in one portable media entertainment device?look no further. Absolutely stunning in its functionality and thoughtfulness to what the consumer wantsUpdated
This DIDNT get an editors choice award? Why, because of their con of it being a bit more expensive. Is anyone here EVER going to pay attention to another CNET review? Has anyone noticed that CNET never talks about how well something works....just about how it looks or feels? They need to stop reviewing things altogether since they cant put a factual realistic review. I think there reviews are bought and sold.Updated
In this review they say "The rated battery life of 52 hours for audio and 10 hours for video is also nothing to scoff at; indeed, it's very impressive, and we can't wait to see how it pans out in our CNET labs testing." - see at the bottom of the review. THEY DIDNT EVEN TEST THE PRODUCT BEFORE THEY REVIEWED IT !!!!!!! I hope all of you realize what this means.Updated
Again I have to ask. Do Cnet reviewers have a clue? Veronica Belmont breezes over the fact that the D2 has E X P A N D A B L E memory. That is a HUGH plus. It means you can (if you want) Have differnet music on different SD cards. It means your player expands with your music collection. It means that you dont have to delete songs as your player becomes full. It is a HUGE plus. The Iriver clix doesnt have a touch screen again she breezes over this fact as if it is nothing. I honestly just dont get it. CNET your reviewers are honestly idiots. Sorry Veronica...you are cute but you have no clue what counts in a review.

I can't agree more with you about CNET, check this:
CNET has a "mp3 player finder" you can use it to specify your wishes for a player and find one that fits you best. Then the results are arranged by CNET's ratings.
Try it for the Cowon D2:
If you dont tick any boxes the Cowon D2 will come up, but try this:
In the first box tick "yes i want to see videos", The D2 should come up but guess what....IT DOESNT!! Same happens if you only tick "I want FM radio" or "I wanna view pictures" These are all functions that the D2 does great.
The D2 gets FILTERED OUT on functions it DOES HAVE!!!!!! -
One thing rarely mentioned is how relatively bulky this thing is. Its like a little brick. Its comparable in weight to some hardrive players I've tried. I personally own two PMPs: a hardrive player for all my music - 80GB 5th gen iPod (too cheap to pass up refurbished!) and a 2nd gen Clix for more active pursuits. Isn't small size/weight the 1st or 2nd best reason for going with a flash player? The sacrifice for great battery life, I guess.

because you are right. CNet should have at least rated the D2 better then the whole Clix series. I actually had a Clix2 but returned it for the D2 because a friend had one and I was able to compaire them first hand. You are right thats really very odd.

This is probably not the right place for this comment but I have also noticed a huge disparity between many CNET ratings vs the ratings of the general public. For example, they seem to have a bias against Kodak digital cameras. They constantly give ratings that are 2-3 points lower than what the public gives (e.g. Kodak Z612). I like CNET but when I look for a product, I believe the public comments before I believe CNET.

Regardless as to whether I agree OR disagree with your opinion regarding CNET's reviews, IF YOU HATE CNET with such a passion, why are you wasting time on their web site. Do you actually believe that your rant "against the machine" is of any significance.
Reviews, like the products themselves, are subject to every one's personal review & opinion. They (CNET) like you are entitled to their opinion. Especially on the Web (where every one's a self appointed expert), where like kaka-dodo, all opinions have the same value.
So again, if you hate this site so much - WHY ARE YOU HERE????? Aren't you the sound of one hand clapping?????

I never mentioned one of Cnet edit told about battery life(Cnet Video) of one mp3 player which was totaly wrong. Personaly i don't trust 100% on reviews of any site or any mag and i go my own. Like about Samsung T9 Cnet mentioned it's have very good sound quality(rich details in mids and clear highs with great bass). But PCmag gave less numbers because it's not have very good sound quality. When i checked T9 and i was realy impressed by it's sound quality. BTW i realy likes it's(D2)feautres and durability. I will buy this(D2)and hope 8GB are on coming soon.
