"Top of the Line, but Cnet review?" on by snobben

Pros: Sound quality, Build quality, Menu system, Features and Battery

Cons: Drains battery rather fast if You have all lightening and color effects on.

Summary: First to say, this is a realy good player. Second to say, I have switched from Muvo n200 to Iaudio5 it was like going from lowend to highend. n200 is a good player for its price and its also very small. But Hyndai is also a good Car for its price but You cant compair it to a Porche! You cant compair n200 with I5, they target different customer groups. That takes me to my third point, the Cnet review. I dont no if I should take it seriously. Iaudio5 outperforms the n200 in every aspect except, price and size (even batterytime if you shut off the color effects). How could Cnet give the n200 a higher score, it has even built in hardware and software problems. Personaly i think the I5 should have higher scores than U2. It has a larger screen, better in handling different sound format otherwise the exact same specs and menussytem. The other differences are the design of the case and type of battery. It would be really interresting to hear the Cnet motivation for the different scores between the U2, I5 and n200... I choose the I5 over the n200 because it outperforms. I choose the I5 over the U2 because of the batterytype, the screensize and the design of the case.

"Simply the Best Flash Player to Date" on by dunsantos

Pros: Sound Quality, Features (BBE, FM Radio, OGG support), Cool Interface, Sound Recorder, Drag and drop files.

Cons: Solid contruction but very, very light. The display is great but would be better if it was OLED. A little pricy but worth it in my opinion.

Summary: This is the best flash player out there right now. iAudio has the reputation of great sound quality and production which shines through in this product.

    PROS:
--Great sound quality (~95 S/N Ratio)

    --Excellent features:
-The BBE extension pack improves the quality of low quality recordings as well enhancing bass and high end sound on all bit rates.
-The device shows up as a drive when plugged into your machine. You can then drag and drop files into the drive and it supports mulitple folder heirarchy.
-Above average reception for FM. Also has the ability to record on a timed basis. This means you can set times where the player will turn itself on and record a certain FM Station. Good for all you Stern listeners.

--The screen is the older LCD but has multiple colored backlight whcih can be configured to your liking. You can also create your own startup logo using animated gifs or avi files, really cool.

--The player supports the OGG file format which is better sound quality than MP3's at a lower bitrate.

--The interface is great (alot of information). The jog dials make it easy to navigate though sometimes the pushing in of the dial is not as exact as I'd like it to be.

    CONS:
--The player is extrememly light and seems fragile to the touch but has been very sturdy so far. The case that the player comes with protects it well enough for gym use.

--The display is a little outdated but has great features. Look for the OLED coming out in new releases for iAudio.

--A little pricy but well worth it in my opinion.

"Controls are fine, if not great." on by ser_renely

Pros: Sound quality, features, display, sharp look, small.

    Cons: No AAC support,battery life

Summary: I have enjoyed my iAudio5 immensely since I received it. I use it mainly for the gym, running and on travel. It has worked perfect for those needs. I chose this player over many, but mainly the iPod shuffle.

CNET's review is very accurate and as good as the player it is not perfect, but I disagree strongly with CNET's review in that the controls are not good. I found it very easy to navigate after the first day. It may be subjective, but I think most would be happy with the controls. Sound quality is great, looks great, nice display. Has OGG Vorbis support.

As for the negatives, which I will focus on are more important to potential buyers. No AAC support, which is pretty annoying as AAC becomes better and better. What is the point of a 1000 LCD colours? I can only see maybe 10 different colours when I change them, anyhow. The display screen is great to have, looks great, but for me it is something I rarely use. I know what is playing 90% of the time. Battery life is not long, and you almost NEED rechargables, which I have. The arm band is not included, but is pretty good for use in athletics and exercise. The arm band is not made for people with large arms. One last thing is I HAD to upgrade my firmware or the player would not work. Some users may not be that competent. It would be nice if it was a bit thinner.

All in all a very good player, I have used a few of the newer ones and am quite happy with the iAudio5. Again, don't be turned off because most of my post is on the negatives, but that is how I choose which products to buy, so it might help some other with the same buying madness.

"Awesome Flash MP3 Player!!!" on by Vio123

Pros: Great Sound, Awesome Multi-colour backlighting,

Cons: Skipping the track is made more difficult then necessary

Summary: This MP3 player is wonderful. I have owned a 40gb 4th gen ipod (also another nice player) but i definetly prefer this little thing. Its nice and compact. It sounds a hell of a lot better then the ipod. It has a really cool colour backlight changing theme, has fm radio and voice recording.

    Things i did not like:
1)If you are listening to a particular track and want to skip to the next track, you have to first pause the song and then change the track, otherwise it will fast-forward the song instead. How often does a person need to fast forward a song???
    2) Voice recording sucks, poor quality recording not worth much for anything.
3)Like all headphones that come with any mp3 player, these equally suck. Get a nice pair of high quality earbuds and this player will sound like a dream.

Other then that, this flash mp3 player is a step up from what dominates the market. It has everything other players have, plus the cool backlight plus the awesome sound quality.

This is one heck of a product! Definetly recommended.
