"Good... BUT a couple of glaring issues need fixing"
Pros: Small, Aweseome battery life, nice display, GREAT sound quality
Cons: No playlist support, horrible xfer speeds for a flashdrive
Summary: I got this a week ago to replace my large and cumbersome Zen touch 20GB. Unfortunately, the hype has not lived up to billing. I am not in any means trashing this little guy, it is a good player and the sound I get thru it with all the Jet audio options is fantastic. I really like the interface as well as the GUI.
My issues started with the loading of music from my pc to the unit. The speeds were terrible. Troubleshooting the various Iaudio7 forums revealed an issue with some units being formatted incorrectly, but mine was not in that category. Updating ID3 tags on the fly was also painfully slow. I mean for a flash drive based unit, this thing should just shoot stuff over in seconds.
The other issue that I am just floored about is the total lack of play list support. They have this thing of "Dynamic playlist support" but its more of a floating jukebox for current songs played.
Lastly, (another bug) is that while playing in shuffle mode , the unit will only play the first 255 songs in the main folder (Called music). There's also sorting ability other than changing capitalization of song / file names.
All in all, I will probably put this up on Ebay, get my money back and head towards the Zen 16GB flash unit which was my 2nd choice in this category.
