"Cool form factor, tiny, necklace optional." on by bjjrmd

Pros: SMALL, great sound, great recording.High Wow factor

Cons: Battery life, proprietary usb plug.

Summary: Just got mine a couple days ago after my iAudio u2 accidentally went through the wash. Being able to record in high quality with direct encoding is very important to me and a big factor in sticking to iAudio products. I think the recording quality is slightly better with the T2.

On the other hand I could care less about watching movies/viewing pics on my DAP. A cool feature I knew I'd rarely if ever use. I have a big screen tv for that...

OGG support is also very important to me. This model also supports FLAC but I doubt i'll use it much considering 2 gb is about 6-7 FLAC cds.

I originally didn't even consider the T2 because I thought you HAD to wear it as a necklace; in fact that's just the way iAudio has marketed it. But it works fine with any headphones and in my pocket. Personally I'll never be seen in public with it around my neck.

It gets high marks for the 'wow' factor. Tiny, and very sleek. From a distance just looks like a plain, completely back box. Then the screen comes on and blows you away...

I wish the battery life were better and I'm discouraged that iAudio chose to use a proprietary usb plug. That serves no purpose other than committ you to their replacement plug should you lose the the 2 it comes with (one mini, one cable). Also I wish it could have more than 2 gb; in fact if iAudio's F2 comes out with a 4-8 gb model I'd probably trade up.

Like the U2 the menu took me about 10-15 minutes to get comfortable and set to my liking. CNETs comment about the OLED screen not having a backlight is true - when it's on it's very bright with great viewing angle but instead of it going dim after being idle for 10 seconds (or can be determined by user) it just shuts off. It's instantly restored by pushing any button.

"Does the job." on by margorita

    Pros: Tiny, Great for running.

Cons: Freezes up, Hard to see in daylight

Summary: This is my first MP3 player so I have nothing to compare it to. I wanted FM capability and that was a determining factor. I use this to run with and it's perfect. It hangs around the neck under my shirt with minimal bounce. (between jogbra and shirt, not sure how men will fare) I've always had armbands (and a funky tanline) with my walkmen and this is MUCH better. The users manual was not very helpful so I went to Cowon and downloaded a larger one. It also had to be configured for Napster to recognize it. I e-mailed Cowon support and they got right back to me with a very simple procedure. The buttons are kinda hard to feel if you're not looking and if you hit a couple of them too fast it freezes up. Just let it sit and it will turn itself off. When you turn it back on again all will be fine. The screen is hard to see in the sunlight requiring a stop in the run to figure it out :(
The earbuds fit fine and I have small ears. There are probably better ones out there but I can hear the cars coming and still have quality sound. Overall I'm pretty happy to have it. Next time I will get more GB's.

    Updated
I loved it, it was great for running. Nice and small but I don't think it was rugged enough for lots of activity. Also, it was impossible to read the screen when outside, the buttons are small and difficult to find on feel alone. But I still liked it anyway. Then it recently "froze" in FM mode. I couldn't turn it on, off, up, down, or anything. So the battery died and now my computer won't recognize it because it has no juice left. BUT the computer is the only way to charge it. So I e-mailed tech support a week ago, they got back to me today and it must be sent in for repair.
    I bought a Sandisk.
