"I love this little player!"
on by MelindaRellaPros Easy to use, and you can't beat the price.
Cons You will need new earbuds
Summary I read all the reviews carefully before I actually tried to install the software. Some of the reviews were horror stories so I was a bit frightened. Not to worry however. If you follow the directions, you shouldn't have any problems. The software prompted you to do exactly what you needed to do. It was an incredibly easy install. I haven't figured everything out on my player yet (though I have been listening to it), but this is my own laziness, and no fault of the simplicity of the player. I would say any computer savvy eight year old would be able to handle this mp3--I found it that simple. It is adorable, and sleek, and sounds good--though I agree you will have to replace the earbuds. I can't really find anything negative to say about this unit. I bought it direct from Creative and saved some extra money. Long story short is I couldn't afford an ipod, but I don't feel deprived in the least. I actually feel like I got a good deal, because I think this little unit is cooler.

"Its very nice"
on by Joey301Pros size, features, screen
Cons no bluetooth
Summary I have had mine a little over a week now and I have put it through its paces pretty well. It froze on me a couple of times but the reset button fixed it each time without messing up anything on the player. I like the extra memory slot, I find it a good place to keep pictures and videos and I don't mind that it does not sync with the rest of the player's memory.
I use Creative's software because I like being able to sync podcasts via ZenCast. You may have to fiddle with everything a bit in the beginning, but that is part of the fun. I really like the size, it is perfect for the gym and the radio reception has proven to be adequate. I wish it had bluetooth but I knew when I purchased it that it did not, so I really can't complain about that. I have not been exceptionally happy with Creative's support (I have two other Creative players). I think they should offer life time email support, or at least try to answer questions when you have a problem, but they only give you 60 days, then it's "sorry". Creative's forum is very helpful and Anything But Ipod and Epizencenter both have really good forums, which will prove helpful when your 60 days expires.
I have not had any problem with battery time, it has always played longer than I needed at any one time. I have had difficulty getting videos to convert if they are *.mov videos and I still have not solved that to my satisfaction.

"One major flaw"
on by Truck-A-SaurasPros tons of features, great audio
Cons SD slot is almost useless due ot current design flaws
Summary Being highly interested in purchasing this player I did some more research. I find out that the SD expansion slot is designed poorly. Consumer beware! You think you are going to just pop in an SD card and jack up the memory of this unit.....sort of.
All data stored on the SD is kept separate from the main on-board memory. So all those extra songs you put on the SD will be hidden away in their own lists.
Pray for a firmware update to make the data on the SD expansion seamlessly integrated with all your other data. -
"Player returned to Creative"
on by alb57Pros size and capabilities were perfect for me.
Cons Could not be detected by Windows XP setup
Summary I waited eight days for the player to be shipped across the country. Loaded the software and charged the battery, player could not be detected. Tech reps sent instructions and commands to alter the system registry(should not have to take such a drastic action). Day 3, the player would not boot up , firmware needed to be reinstalled. The player was not detected, so firmware could not be reinstalled. Day 4, the Player was returned at customer's expense...return date unknown.
Overall, I am very impressed by the features of the player. I just wish I had received one that was fully operable. If a new player is not received, I will be extremely disappointed.

ALBUpdated
The player was ordered 10/1/07, recived 10/9/07, and mailed back 10/12/07. I received an e-mail on 10/22/07, reporting that a new player was ordered and processed to be shipped. On 10/23/07, I received an e-mail informing me that an order has been shipped. It will probably be 11/1/07 before the player arrives at my residence.
It does not appear that Creative officials care what the customer experiences, as long as others continue to buy their product. A full month to resolve the sale of a defective device does not is not customer friendly at all. I will have to carefully review other companies for future purchases. -
"Do not buy this"
on by sleepyguy510Pros Sounded great, briefly
Cons It doesn't work
Summary It looked great out of the box, charged it up and listened to the radio and it sounded great. That was the end, three computers in the house and not one of them would recognize it. Went through all of the online help and then emailed them. They sent me back links to the same info I had gone through. After a couple of exchanges I managed to get a phone number from them. The tech support person had me go through all of the same hoops again, and then informed me that for 25 dollars each way they would repair it. Took it back for a Sansa and am much happier
