Pros sleek looking, impressive sound quality for recording
Cons keep locking up, SD card not integrated, zencast video not necessary
Summary I like Creative products. All of my sound card, mp3 players, earphones and speaker systems came from Creative. However, this mp3 player is very disappointing.
The sound quality is superb, so is the sleek looking. I use the player to record lectures, and the sound is very clear without the low frequency background noise.
However, the player locks up several times everyday for no obvious reasons. It even happened within the first hour I got it. Even worse, I can not shut it down and reboot when it is locked up. This design is ridiculous. It seems like I should carry a pin with me all the time to punch the reset button in case needed. This is especially inconvenient during running. It simply ruins the running and makes it so hard for me to like it. Imagine a guy in running shorts bending over and searching on the ground for some small wood sticks, pine needle or whatever to reset his mp3 player! I did it for multiple times in the past few days!
If the Creative guys do not update the firmware to fix the problem soon, I am sorry that I'll have to return it.
Pros can read mp3lame gapless tag
Cons painful (zero) video support
Summary -not able to direct transfer by usb, you must install the painfull creative software in windows, a cruel punishment for gnu/linux users
-to encode to mp3 with creative sofware you must pay an extra $10 for mp3 encode pack
-not able to play non exact scale (320*240) videos
-not able to forward and backward wmv videos , encoded with latest version of bundled sofware (and firmware) or not
-any support to divx or xvid, do not let misled by false advertising
-very very low output volume(even unlimited), if you travel in the underground listen to your music may be an impossible task.
-not batery charger include, only the usb transfer cable
>>> amacing screen an gapless playback not enough to buy this creative sh**
