"Greatly Disappointed"on by bazoo
Pros Good sound quality, Album art displayed
Cons where is the movie playback capabilty?
Summary I have used CL mp3 players for serveral years now, always upgrading to bigger and better. The best for me was the 30gb Zen Vision because it played all major video formats: mpg, avi and wmv. The only drawback to it was the non-user replaceable battery (which btw, the new Zen also sports), which I burned up by trying to upgrade the firmware after having it for roughly a year.
So I was pleased when Creative announced a new smaller player that also had the same video playback features I loved in my old one.
When I finally bought it, my initial reaction was that the player felt cheap and toy-like. The screen is awesome although small and the colors are beyond belief. And I am nerdily pleased that it shows my mp3 album art.
Imagine my surprise though when the package SAYS it will play all the same video formats as my old Vision but all the reviews say it only plays wmv (the other formats are only after conversion? ***...)
OK, fine. Except that the converter that comes with the player won't convert my files AT ALL and even my own video converters don't seem to appease the Creative Labs gods as none of my videos will transfer.
I either get the error message that says the file "exceeds the playback capabilty" or flat out says the file was "rejected."
To top it all off, the player froze on me within the first hour of playing around with it.
I don't need this aggrevation. I'm returning the player tomorrow.
Sorry, Creative. You laid a stink bomb with this one.
Pros Sleek, Slim, Shiny and Pretty
Screen is pretty good for a sub for a small mp3 player
Cons Software it comes with is a tad bloated
Firmware updates when done correctly can have adverse effects
Summary It's a good unit for playing music and is small enough to carry anywhere. Video playback is pretty good so long as you encode the video yourself.
It's definitely a buy if you're looking for a device that's going to be used primarily for audio yet flexible enough to play short videos. However be weary of firmware updates, if the device is working well to your liking DON'T UPDATE IT.
Pros Best quality of all features
Cons A little problem in it's first firmware
Summary It's excellent... It has many good features, like: Very good display quality (16.7 Millions of colors, TFT, 2.5") I can see videos & pictures in it with a very good quality - Support for many formats of musics & videos - you can 1x zoom on pictures in it - time & calendar, you can sync your Outlook's Calendar, Tasks & Contacts to its "Organizer" - very friendly & easy-to-use menus - good keys - Sensitive FM Radio (your headphones wires are its antenna) - best quality of musics sounds, Its player quality is better than my sound card - you can configure everythings of your player very easy - it records voices maximum 10 hours in each file in WAV format (WAV is the best format of sounds with large size, because in this format you have all of the sounds and the sounds don't be compress) - best feature is "supporting for memory cards" & you can use SD Memory Cards & upgrade your 2-4-8-16-32GB Zen to higher & higher with little cost... & you have all of these features & others in a "Small Tower"
It has little problems in previous version of its firmware (Operating System)... but now they upgrade its firmware and you can download new firmwares & softwares from creative site and they support it very good. Creative is very up-to-date on its products ...
I think it's better than ipod and others and it's the best in this price and it costs higher than $150 but you can buy it for only $85-$120 (4GB)... & It's one of the bests now in the world...
Better feature of all of them is "It is a CREATIVE product"...

"Nice MP3 player"on by navic99
Pros big screen, nice interface, easy navigation
Cons volume too low
Summary This is a very good mp3 player. My only real complaint is that sometimes I can't get the volume as high as I'd like.
And when playing something off an SD card, it doesn't remember where you were when you restart.
Otherwise, no complaints...very nice machine. It looks cool too.
Pros Sound and Video quality are great, size, controls
Cons Occasionaly hangs
Summary I have had this player for 2 weeks and love it. It's very pocket friendly and the controls are easy to use. The sound quality is top notch, but you need a good set of 'phones to hear the quality this little unit can pump out. The video screen is great. I've watched a few movies and have had no problems geting thru them on the small screen. The SD card slot is a great idea. Now I can have unlimited storage for music, movies, and data.
It does hang on occasion, but a reset has resolved this any time it happened. I hear sofware upgrades will fix this issue.
