"Mac Compatibility Needs Work"
on by BirdfanPros Small, Cheap, Can download songs from portable disc players.
Cons Numbers songs instead of naming. Support mediocre.
Summary Mac support is poor for this product. Don't bother with the set up disc - it won't work on a Mac, I ended up using iTunes to organize files. When downloading songs from portable CD player, songs are numbered instead of named - annoying. You have to use iTunes to manually backtrack and rename them, and unlike Ipod, you can't associate artist's names. Finally, when copying files from a cd in your computer, you have to spend time saving files as either MP3 or WMA, since that's all this reads. Earbuds are uncomfortable. Sound quality is very good, but Mac users looking for something completely hassle-free should look elsewhere.

"My first experience"
on by lilmizzcPros Compact, nice sound, Good for on the go
Cons sm. earbuds.......
Summary Here is the real deal.
This thing is small and compact, the case cover is like a white rubber material and it's not too bad. You have to push the play button to turn it off and on but u have to hold it for a long time (like 5 sec). You can organize your songs on the Creative Media folder (not the organizer). It is better if you put your music in folders because it is a pain to thumb through just 40 songs. (It holds more than that). It does not play real media files and since I did not have a converter i had to burn the songs as a cd then rip the cd. It's not that hard but I just found out way late in the night. The FM radio is great!!. You can pre-set stations but just remember to do them manual (yes that means go through all the stations first)and do not press auto scan after, because u will have to reset all your stations again. When you put your music in folders, it puts them in ABC order and when you go to the selected folder it plays all the music. The bad is that u can't go from #1 to #17 going backwards, that will take you to another music folder. You have to go through all the songs. Another thing I wished it had was a way to rewind back without starting the song over. Oh well. Also if you are trying to clip the player to you your finger hits the play button and will turn it off. This was a pain but once you restart it, the music starts back where u left off. I have not used all of the functions but I am very happy with this little thing. I'll have more updates later.
Pros:The menu is pretty easy to get. Sound is coo, buttons are easy to use and in the right place except for the play button.
Cons: If you have small ear, the ear phones will not work at all, they kept falling out of my ears. -
"Good things come in small packages"
on by Ashley_CharronPros *Small size makes it able to be taken virtually everywhere.
*Excellent sound.
*LCD screen is very inclusive in track info despite its small size.
*Includes a radio and microphone as well.
*Runs a long time on one AAA battery.Cons *Has a small storage space, so it's not good for those who have a large music library or want an mp3 player for more than just use while exercising.
*Doesn't have a playlist function.
*The backing piece holding in the battery breaks easily.Summary This was the first mp3 player I've owned. It was perfect for me way back in 2006 when I was new to the world of mp3 players. It suited me well, since I had less than 500 songs in my music library. It's compact design made it very easy for me to stow it away in my pocket when I wasn't using it, and replacing the AAA battery was so much easier than hooking it up to a computer for a battery charge. My only real issue with this one was that the backing piece on mine broke, so I had to tape it onto the player for the battery to stay in. Overall, I was very happy with it, and actually miss this nifty little player. I may get another one in the future just for use at the gym.

"Watch out! Your cell phone will kill this device!"
on by crombergPros Works good until you put it close to a working cell phone.
Cons Not EMI proof!
Summary My wife has killed two Creative Nano Plus MP3 players. She didn't realize what was doing it until the second one died. Putting it near a transmitting cell phone trashes something inside the player.
The failure mode is that it won't turn on. The screen will light up briefly and turn back off. You can attach the device to your computer and access the contents of memory, but once you take it off the computer, it won't turn on.
I suspect other MP3 players may have the same problem, so be careful!
