"NEVER EVER BUY THIS." on by yjzone.net
Pros: Nothing as far as I can think of!!!
Cons: The only isue with this is the terrible navigation. IT JUST NEVER WORKS AND IS WAY TOO FIDDLY.
Summary: Stay your finger away from this! the iriver Clix or the cowon D2 are MUCH better. And better value of course. This is the reason why creative is losing market share to iriver, Cowon, Samsung...etc.

"poor customer service" on by LeoK001
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: poor customer service
Summary: I ordered mine online and it arrived defective. After working with customer support they decided it was defective and had me send it in at my expense. Then I had to wait 15 days after it arrived at Creative for them to ship a new one. Then the tracking number they gave to me indicated that it had been delivered two years ago. When I called them they couldn't help me get the correct tracking number. They said just wait, it will come soon.
I think, once they determined that the original one was defective, that they should have immediatey overnighted me a new one and sent a postage paid box to return the broken one. Instead, I'm out $8 for shipping and have waited over a month with nothing to show for it.
I'm getting an iPod next time. -

"Nice body, crap software" on by glut
Pros: nice looking portable, good functionality and plenty options
Cons: Creative software kills this product instantly!!!
Summary: Zen V could be a nice player but Creative buggy software makes it a worthless piece of crap.
Might be I am the only one who had this poor luck but I think Creative buggy software is famous for letting its products down.
My Story:
I bought Zen V 2G because its design and functionality appealed to me. My poor experience with Creative software should have rang alarms but … when you want it you forget the past.
So I got my Zen and went on straight to my PC to get it working. I have XP professional and I never had problems to install anything except for Sony MD software before this day.
I put installation CD into CD ROM and installed software required for Zen. Happily I plugged my Zen into USB after installation and … this is where problems began. Instead of pairing device on Synch manager I saw Windows showing Zen as new hardware… I canceled this and went back to Synch manager to find out that it does not reckon any Zen around. After spending a good hour or two, twisting, reloading, removing and so on, I gave up… I had a hassle with SoundBlaster software years before (solved it), but it was Zen problem impossible to walk around.
So this nice piece of crap called Zen goes back to the shop tomorrow. It is a pity how a good looking product can become a waste because of Creative tradition of creating poor and buggy software.
Later I found on creative web possible error problem report and the solution to it... I do not think I am about to do it and waste more time on bizzare product.
I CAN ONLY SWEAR: NEVER EVER ANY CREATIVE FOR ME… forget this crappy manufacturer. Better go for Cowon or iRiver for MP3 players and you will never regret it. Only if you got strong sado-masochistic instincts you should try Creative. -
