  • "Great Review! Great Video Playback! Looks awesome too!"
    4.5 stars
    on by kostonjohn

Pros: Great video playback, videos i imported into the player is too much! Software is awesome, I didnt need to convert any of my current videos. Battery life is very long, about 14 hours!

Cons: Only complaint is the fm player, wich it is already an automatic preset, so you cant actually browse thru station manually.

Summary: What can I say, this player is everything I wanted and more. I'v had one Ipod in the past, and I had to sell it on ebay cause it wasnt really my style plus it wasnt that easy to use to someone who didnt know much about computers at the time. With the Vision M, as soon as I got it out of the box, first thought was,"Damn! thats a hot looking ******!", and to people that say it's a boat compared to the ipod 5g, get over yourself cause it aint that much bigger, plus it feels more sturdy. As soon as i plugged it into my vaio, It was on! Software was very easy to install, took only about 3 minutes max. Then I started importing my music library into to it,about 1000 songs, wich was also a breeze, took less than 10 minutes, then came all my videos. I was afraid I would have to convert some of my videos, but I was wrong. It went as smooth as butter, I just got the videos from my shared files, then download them into the zen, that easy! A 700mb movie took about 10min. to download! Now Im watching all my Family Guy Episodes and all my skate videos I downloaded from limewire in my zen wich is great. The vieo playback... Wow is all I can say, I have a friend that has the 5g ipod and there is really no competition to the 262,144 color screen on my zen, my videos are clear, vibrant and true to the original video, its like watching it on my 50 inch dlp tv(off course minituarize!) No delay or skipping on the video wich I somewhat expected, but am glad doesnt happen. Photos are also fun to play with on the zen. You can listen to your music while looking thru your photos, and you can also make your photos your backround image wich totally personalizes it completely to your taste;) The Audio playbac is as expected wich is very awesome and clear! The only real complaint about this otherwise perfect device is the fm capabilities. I was suprised to find out that it has a automatic scan for stations instead of a manual scan wich sucks cause I really dont get to listen to the stations I listen to all the time, but thats only a small step back for me. If your debating between an Ipod5g and the Zen Vision M, I hope this has helped you out in your decision, It's a little one sided, but from comparing my Zen to my friends Ipod 5g, it was clear the zen was more user friendly, stylish, screen was by far more colorful and clear, wich makes it a winner in my books. I bought mine at Amazon wich was tax free and free shipping so that solved the stupid problem of it costing a whopping $30 more than the 5g! haha. Later.
