0.5 starson by dmenniePros: the jukebox does come in a nice box!
Cons: this product is full of bugs and problems
Summary: Let me start off by saying that I used to LOVE Dell. I have bought my second Dell computer and is satisfied with it. I have also bought a camera from Dell with great confidence and it has been a good relationship between company and consumer... until... I bought a Dell Jukebox. The first one I had kept freezing up (YES, even after downloading the patches) and after litteraly HOURS on the techsupport line (if Dell thinks it's saving money with transfering their customer service calls to India, I would like to see their phone bill!!!), they finally agreed to have me send the jukebox back to be repaired. Turns out it was replaced (hey, thanks for loosing my hundreds of music download Mr. Dell!) and now the new player's hardrive is down again, and this time it won't even download the new patches (how about we bury those even deeper in the support website!). So now of course, my warranty is over and I'm sure that somebody in Bombay or Calcutta will tell me that I'm out of luck. Thanks Dell! Oh, and I also work for tech dept. for schools, so when we have new purchases, you can bet that Dell is off our list of suppliers. Funny how a simple thing as bad tech support and a bad product will end up loosing you money.

I have to agree with everything you say. I purchased this MP3 in Jan 2004, and after DLing approx 1000 songs from my own personal CD's and spending near $100 in downloads from the stores, the MP3 decided to take a dump on me. The Hard drive crashed so I called Bombay (Gotta LOVE outsourcing). After almost an hour on the phone while ulling my hair out, the agent cam to the conclusion that the MP3 would have to be returned with a new one sent to me. I asked him about all the music I had on it, and he basically said that there was nothing they could do. 2 days later, a new MP3 was sent to me, and it pretty much functional for about 2 months. Then the player started to freeze about 1-2 times per month and had to be re-set with a paper clip. The last straw came 3 weeks ago. ALmost every time I turn it on, it goes through "rebuilding the library", which takes 5-6 minutes before I can use it. I doubt I will EVER buy a Dell product again. By the way, yes I have downloaded every patch etc for the MP3, and nothing has seemed to cure the problem. My wife also has the 20GB player ( we bought 2 at the same time), and hers also goes through the "rebuilding library" issue every time she turns it on as well
