"Great Player,. Flaky software"
Pros: A great player, superb built quality, good sound, excellent ergonomics
Cons: Virtually unusable software. Aaaargh!
Summary: I really liked the FL100 as an MP3 player. The MPIO Player software is very flaky. It would not work with Win98SE or Win2000. With XP it could be forced to work. I would need to allow over 1 hour to load 256mb onto the flash memory, a few tracks at a time, with several hangs and restarts. Copying music files to an SD card with an external card reader was better. I then simply put the card in the FL100..
I also learned to always leave 20mb of space in the Flash memory. My 500mb SD card only worked with less than 370mb of tracks loaded.
Good sound and good battery life.
The player always started from the same track, it always ignored where it had been stopped, in spite of the settings. Some of the EQ settings made no difference to the sound.
