"Durable, entertaining, and intuitive"
Pros: Easy for a 3 year old to use, cutomizable icons
Cons: Proprietary format, small icon library
Summary: I bought this for my 3 year old daughter as an alternative to me having to listen to her song du jour over, and over, and over. One of the biggest things I love about this is that you can select an icon to go with each recording so that if your child cannot read yet, they can still differentiate their songs. The software includes a reasonable selection of icons, and lets you draw custom icons, but unless you are a computer artist, the custom icons don't come out very well. Once you add an expansion card, the library goes quick. The propietary format is a little annoying, but not that big of a deal. In order to put mp3 or other file types on the player, you just have to make a standard music format CD and then rip it using the fp3 software. Overall, I have found it to be a good value. It is certainly more expensive than a regular mp3 player, but its memory is easily expanded, its safe for a small child, and it keeps my 3 year old very happy.Updated
I noted that both of the bad user reviews are by people who do not own one and have never even used one. I have had this product for several weeks and would definately recommend it for anyone with small children.
