"Can be made to work under Vista"
Pros: Tough unit
Cons: Not Vista compatable per se
Summary: Managed to get this working under Vista. It is a work around mind you and requires a small amount of technical know how. Vista won't recognize the Fp3 player as such and neither will the Fisher Price software. However Vista will recognize the Fp3 player as a mass storage device. What you have to do is convert your music as usual using the Fisher Price software. Next use search to locate the .fp3 files that were created. If you have alot of them go by the date and time stamp to locate the ones you just created. Open your mass storage drive and double click the fp3 directory, here are all your songs on the Fp3 player. Check to see what the last numbered fp3 file is. Next renumber your fp3 files that you just converted on your computer to numbers higher than what is already on the player and move them into the fp3 directory along the the ones already there on your mass storage device. Right click each of the new tracks and uncheck the archive setting and check the hidden setting, apply and exit. Almost done. Now you must open the playlist.sng file in the root of the mass storage device with notepad and edit it to reflect the new tracks you have added. Don't forget to change the number at the top to reflect the total number of tracks. Save and exit and you have successfully added songs to your Fisher Price Fp3 Player with Vista. Hope this helps those people who thought they were stuck.

Thanks for the work around. I wanted to let anyone reading this know, however, that if you call mattel/fisher price )888-892-6123), they will email you the vista-compatible software. So, no need to go through all of that.

Actually if you call Fisher Price directly they can email you a Vista patch with instructions and the unit is fully compatible with Windows Vista!!
