"Junk device, do not buy it, read the hole opinion."

    by eli_talmor on August 12, 2006

Pros: nice shape, cool wetsuit, good name, and more than all, good internet site!

Cons: cheap material, bad earphones, luosy sound, poor interface, and not waterproof!

Summary: Here is all the truth about freestyleaudio mp3 players.

The second I took it out of it's box I realized that I was duped as the impression was that it is a cheap device, soon enough it came true.
Starting with the bad quality of plastic and buttons of the unit, the led cover is covered partially with melted black plastic, the graved marks of

volume and play/skip buttons are as well smudged and not clear. Control buttons are made of cheap rubber, badly engineered, when trying to

put the player in the wetsuit supplied, buttons are bending. but the real flaw is the earphones , which presented by freestyle audio as

"Specially engineered waterproof Sport Headphones", believe me, not special at all. taking cheap earphones (with no name, but a "made in

china" sticker... ) with no top quality of sound, and cover them with silicon glue, doesn't make them specially engineered... not to talk about

the rubber tubes that are too long (not even as well) and gets squeezed when you shove it inside the ear, a thing that blocks the sound that

    by default is wick.
The mp3 interface as well is poor, volume up / down ; tunes << / >> , after shutdown, starts from the first tune and not the last heard, and that

    sums it up.

I decided to return the unit to freestyle audio, after a long correspondence with them, in which they made promises, they just disappeared,

and did not respond my messages. (I should mention that I live abroad, and they used that fact knowing I won't pay them a visit).

Well, after spending more than 260 $ I thought that I should at least try it...
So I took the player for a chance in the water, it stopped working!
After a while, when I realized that no warranty is going to help me, as freestyle audio did not respect it, I tried to fix the unit, the only way to do

it was to brake it, like these one time devices... anyway, inside it was all rusted and full of corrosion.

For conclusion, I strongly recommend not to be tempted and buy this mp3, it is junk in a nice cover...
